Successful Installation and Training in Malaysia. I had the opportunity to complete the installation, commissioning, and training of VENTIL VC40-SRV-FLII high-volume safety valve test bench at Penaga Dresser Sdn Bhd (81758-M), Terengganu, the Green Tag Centre (GTC) for Baker Hughes. The VENTIL VC40-SRV-FLII is an universal 'high volume' test bench for pressure testing and setting of pressure relief valves in the range of 1/2" - 16" / DN15 - 400mm. Gas and liquid testing of all kinds of safety valves, according to all common international test standards, such as; API - American Petroleum Institute 526, API 527, ANSI / API RP 576. I’m thankful for the support from the Penaga Dresser Sdn Bhd (81758-M) team throughout the process and proud to see our VENTIL testing solutions contributing to their operations. 🌐 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲: Shell and Ventil develop new fugitive emission testing method In an exclusive interview with Valve World, Alfred Kruijer, Principal Technical Expert for Piping & Valves at Shell, discusses a collaborative project with Emiel Lechevallier from VENTIL. They've developed a new fugitive emission testing method using forming gas, aiming to improve industry practices. With nearly four decades of experience at Shell, Kruijer has consistently advocated for environmental responsibility and improved emissions testing standards. His latest collaboration with Ventil Test Equipment addresses cost and safety concerns in the industry. Key highlights from the interview: → Introduction of forming gas as an alternative to helium in fugitive emission testing, addressing helium shortages and rising costs. → Comprehensive validation processes, including laboratory tests and field trials, providing new insights into gas behaviour in leak detection. → Benefits of the new method: potential cost savings, safety improvements, operational efficiency and resource conservation. → Incorporation of their work into API 6Z (now Annex M of API 6D), with potential inclusion in ISO 15848 under consideration. → Concept of 'green valves', focusing on comprehensive lifecycle emissions reduction and long-term environmental responsibility. → Upcoming presentations at the Valve World Conference 2024 in Düsseldorf, including demonstrations and explanations of their methodology.
