We're excited to share that the latest LUCIA EU Project Consortium meeting has come to a successful close 🎯 . Over the past two days, partners in the LUCIA project - funded through Horizon Europe - gathered in Seville, Spain, to review the progress and achievements made over the last six months. YAGHMA was represented by Ivett Jakab and Emad Yaghmaei. Day 1 ➡️ Ivett presented an update on the tasks led by Yaghma, and on Day 2 ➡️ we hosted a Value Realisation Workshop. Ahead of the meeting, we gathered input on potential risks, which were then discussed in the workshop, where we brainstormed practical solutions to address them within the project timeline. It was a truly productive and inspiring gathering, providing an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, share progress, and collaboratively shape the path forward. 💪 Our shared goal of 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗫𝗥 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 took a step forward during this meeting 🎯. 🌍 Reflecting on the OECD - OCDE World Forum on Well-being, we are inspired by the rich discussions and innovative ideas shared over three days of panels, workshops, and talks. Placing people's well-being at the heart of public policy and societal actionis a timely and necessary call to action. Our key takeaways from the Forum: 💡 Measuring impact matters: There is an urgent need to improve how we measure the impacts of firms on people and inequalities—a critical step toward more inclusive growth. 💡 Think intergenerationally: Policies designed for people’s well-being must adopt an intergenerational perspective to ensure sustainable and equitable outcomes. 💡 Bridging the policy-technology gap: Policy development often lags behind technological advancements, especially in the case of AI. New tools are required to monitor the impacts of emerging technologies in real time. 💡 The power of Large Language Models: These technologies hold immense promise for tracking well-being through the analysis of large text corpora, offering a data-driven lens on societal issues. At YAGHMA, we are committed to ensuring that the policies and technologies shaping the green and digital transitions foster positive societal change. The 𝗢𝗘𝗖𝗗 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 was a three-day immersion into panel discussions, parallel sessions, workshops, and talks around the need to centre people's well being across all areas of public policy and societal action. Here’s a few takeaways from the OECD Forum: 💡 There is a need for better measurement of the 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. 💡 For policies to ensure positive outcomes on 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴, they need to be designed from an 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲. 💡 Policies inherently tend to lag behind technological advancements, particularly in the case of AI. Tools are required to closely monitor the 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀. 💡 Large Language Models offer valuable potential for tracking well-being in large text corpora.
