We are excited to introduce our Sales Coordinator for Cable and Harness, Kjetil Grotbæk Moen, who joined Westcontrol Berget on April 1st. Although new to the role, Kjetil is already diving into the daily responsibilities, from communicating with customers to calculating and sending offers. He finds it fascinating to see how our products are used and is eager to learn more about the technical aspects of our operations. With a background in project management and sales in the field of road safety, Kjetil brings valuable experience in customer relations and a deep understanding of human communication. He values building strong relationships with clients and working closely with internal departments. One of the things Kjetil appreciates most about Westcontrol Berget is our philosophy of giving people opportunities based on potential, not just formal qualifications. He is proud to be part of a company that fosters growth, both for employees and the community of Notodden. We welcome 10 new operators to Westcontrol Berget! August has been a big month for us as we’ve strengthened our team with 10 new operators! 🎉 This is an important milestone in our push toward the future, and we’re incredibly proud to attract skilled people from different backgrounds, each bringing something unique to the company. Meet three of our new employees who have already made their mark with us: 🌟 Kjell Gunnar made a move from the retail world at Meny Tuven Senteret to a new career in industry. In a short time, he’s had the chance to try out various tasks, from warehouse work to testing cables and nodes. "I’ve always had an interest in tools and home improvement, and even without operator experience, I’ve received thorough training that makes me feel confident in the role," says Kjell Gunnar. The learning curve has been steep, but he enjoys the environment where he can grow and learn more every day. 🌟Turid Elisabeth has an exciting background, with experience both in retail at Life Tuven Senteret and at Disney World! "It’s surprising how much overlap there is between the precision we require here and the strict safety routines we followed at Disney World," says Turid. She greatly appreciates the support she’s received through training and from her colleagues, adding that the mentorship program has been a key part of her strong start. 🌟 Withida is proof that persistence pays off! She applied several times before landing the job as an operator, but she never gave up. With experience both in childcare and working with technical machines, she knew that Westcontrol Berget was where she wanted to work. "There was something that drew me to this place, and I knew I would enjoy it here. I recommend anyone wanting to work here not to give up, because it’s really worth it," she says. We’re proud to offer an environment where employees can grow, regardless of their background. In early August, we at Berget proudly participated in the "Se til Notodden" event with our own stand! This is a fantastic gathering for job seekers in Notodden, where they can meet local companies, network, and explore opportunities for their future careers. We are currently looking for talented individuals and will continue to do so in the coming months, making this event a perfect opportunity to meet potential new colleagues. We hope to welcome 20-30 new members to the Berget team in the near future. “Even before the event officially started, we received our first CV and application – it’s truly exciting to see how many people are interested in joining us!” says our HR representative, Carine. Throughout the day, we received 5 physical CVs and applications, and many more left their names and phone numbers. Several have also applied afterward. "At the moment, we’re receiving a couple of applications each day," Carine adds. We are currently hiring for: - Purchasing Manager - Operators (Høgås - Cable Department) - Sales Manager - Technical Personnel / Technical Resources (We always need skilled professionals with technical expertise!) With 10 new employees starting in August, we look forward to continued growth and welcoming more talented people to our team. 🚀 From Berget to Westcontrol Berget: A New Era Begins! 🚀 We are proud to announce that Berget has officially changed its name to Westcontrol Berget! This name change strengthens our collaboration with partner companies in Western Norway and marks a new era of growth and innovation. On May 16th, we celebrated the name change with a BBQ, sunny weather, and inspiring speeches from our CEO, Inge Flaten, and Leif Petter Skaar, Managing Director of Westcontrol. They emphasized the importance of a shared identity and the value of our new logo. Leif Petter Skaar shared his vision of leveraging synergies across geography and disciplines, focusing on technology, competence, and culture. Our unified identity aims to inspire and motivate all employees to reach new heights together. In 2024, we have already hired over 20 new employees and plan to grow by an additional 25 before 2025! This growth reflects our ambitions to strengthen our market position and seize new opportunities. As part of our strategy for knowledge sharing, some of our employees have visited Westcontrol in Tau to exchange information and expertise with our colleagues there. Celebrating Longevity and Loyalty at Berget With a combined 88 years of experience, Arnstein and Håvard exemplify the enduring commitment that Berget inspires in its employees. "I started as a skilled worker, operating a machine and producing parts," Arnstein recalls. "I've since held roles as Quality Manager, Production Manager, General Manager, and now work in market and sales." Håvard shares a similar journey: "I started with product testing at Notodden Electronics and have since been a Foreman, Production Manager, and Quality Manager." Continuous development opportunities and challenges significantly contribute to employee retention. "You don’t need to change workplaces to find new and exciting tasks here," Arnstein notes. This is one of the benefits of working in a smaller company. "You get a much broader work scope and can learn more," he adds.
