Last week, ECCSEL ERIC, in collaboration with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Berlin was delighted to host an engaging presentation and panel discussion at Berlin Science Week. Our guiding question: "Is heaven blue or green—or maybe both? Can blue hydrogen and CCUS help solve Germany's energy trilemma?" We were privileged to hear insightful presentations from experts at SINTEF Energy Research, Helmholtz-Centre Potsdam - German Research Centre GFZ Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI and German-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce. The panel, along with an active audience, engaged in a lively discussion, delving into the economic, environmental, and technological considerations of blue and green hydrogen. Key topics included building an efficient CCUS value chain within Germany and beyond and the implications for future sustainable energy policies. A heartfelt thank you to all who joined us, including Dr. Vicki Duscha, Nils Røkke Michael Kern, Prof. Dr. Ingo Sass, Erik Ferdinand Øverland Klaus Tobias Mosbacher for contributing to this thought-provoking event.

We look back on two inspiring days at Carbon Capture Technology Expo Europe Hamburg 2024. TCM Ismail Shah Koteswara Rao Putta Liv Lønne Dille made new and useful contacts which we hope will lead to synergies that will accelerate the commercialisation of carbon capture technologies. #catchingourfuture We also had a good collaboration with ECCSEL ERIC Klaus Tobias Mosbacher and discussed synergies to support the accelerated deployment of CCS.
