Førjulssamling med bedrifter i Haugaland Næringspark 🎄 Denne uken samlet vi bedrifter og samarbeidspartnere i Haugaland Næringspark for en hyggelig førjulssamling og en kort oppsummering av året som har gått. Haugaland Næringsparks daglige leder, Tiril Fjeld, ønsket velkommen og fortalte siste nytt fra Næringsparken. Videre fikk vi spennende oppdateringer om #CCSHaugalandet og #IndustriellSymbiose-prosjektet. Yesterday Rune Halseid Chief Business Officer Ammonia represented Horisont Energi at the first Joint General Assembly for all waves under IPCEI Hydrogen (Hy2Tech, Hy2Use, Hy2Infra and Hy2Move). The event was held in Paris, and it was a pleasure to be there together with Anita Fossdal, Pierre Clavier and Stian Seim. Barents Blue Europe’s first world-scale clean ammonia plant, located in Hammerfest is part of the IPCEI Hydrogen programme, Hy2Use with a grant of NOK 482 million from Enova. The Hy2Infra wave has the highest number of FIDs largely driven by strategic development of hydrogen pipeline infrastructure in Germany and securing demand for hydrogen is now the top priority. The vast majority of IPCEI projects are directed towards renewable hydrogen. Thomas Courbe from the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry emphasises the acceptance for use of low carbon hydrogen generated from fossil sources with CCS is growing as a necessary means to help build a clean, affordable hydrogen market. In the long run a growing proportion of the hydrogen demand will be covered by renewable sources and that growth needs to start now hand in hand with low carbon hydrogen developments.

Together with 30 other companies, Horisont Energi is joining a new industry coalition led by Madoqua Renewables to develop a robust green fuels and CO2 value chain connecting Portugal to Northern Europe and Norway. Gismarvik CO2 hub with an annual capacity for intermediate storage of 24 million tonnes is the planned terminal partner for intermediate storage and CO2 sequestration in this value chain. "It is essential to think in terms of entire value chains when planning and building new green industries and realizing the full potential of carbon management as part of the green transition. This coalition is an effort to establish a functioning large-scale CO2 management market, and we are glad to contribute as a CO2 infrastructure and sequestration partner. This is a recognition of our competence in this field and in the potential of our planned Gismarvik CO2 hub in a European context," say Co-CEOs Bjørgulf Haukelidsæter Eidesen and Leiv Olav Kallestad.

🚢 More Exciting News from Madoqua: Pioneering a Green Corridor for Europe's Energy Transition! 🌍⚡ Building on our partnership with the Admnistração do Porto de Sines, Port of Rotterdam, and duisport - Duisburger Hafen AG announced in early November – today on Tuesday (10/12/2024), a range of leading industry players have signed an MOU to operationalize this Green Corridor.    The signatories of this MoU will combine their sustainability priorities and apply their collective expertise to advance the decarbonization of hard-to-abate industries and the shipping sector in Europe. The parties will support the development of cross-border infrastructure and the promotion of green hydrogen derivatives and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies, with the goal of attaining European energy  independence by securing a low-cost renewable fuel supply from Portugal.   This collaboration includes diverse sections of the energy transition value chain, including financial partners, terminal operators, R&D institutions, industrial corporates committed to decarbonization, green fuel producers, and alternative fuel off-takers.    Thank you to our partners Admnistração do Porto de Sines, Port of Rotterdam, duisport - Duisburger Hafen AG, Secil, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, ING, MUFG, Tepsa, Chane, Mitsui O.S.K. Beyond the Longship project, industry decarbonisation policy in Norway has been disjointed and insufficient. This week there has been progress.   As part of the 2025 state budget compromise between the minority government parties and Sosialistisk Venstreparti, a parliamentary majority asks the government to present a plan for CO2 capture, transport, and storage for industry clusters. This is long overdue, and very much in line with the recommendations that Bellona and a broad industry coalition handed over to energy minister Terje Aasland last June. A forthcoming Bellona report, penned by colleague Mats Rongved, sketches what a coordinated CO2 infrastructure could look like (below).   Other wins for climate and the environment:   -Deep sea mining licensing round is cancelled -1 BNOK (€85mn) earmarked for industry emissions reductions in 2025 -Parliament asks the government to develop a support scheme for emissions reductions and for Carbon Dioxide Removal in industry and waste management. Props to the Socialist Party for their efforts on climate in the negotiations. I går hadde vi gleden av å samle Næringsforeningen i Stavanger-regionen , Stavanger kommune, Tysvær kommune, Næringsforeningen Haugalandet og Rogaland fylkeskommune til en inspirerende dag på Kårstø og i Haugaland Næringspark / Haugaland Business Park med Horisont Energi. Prosjektet E39 Rogfast vil, når det etter planen står ferdig i 2033, gi en ferjefri tilknytning mellom nord- og sør- Rogaland. Rogaland et bo- og arbeidsmarked - på mange måter; Et nytt Rogaland med ubegrensede muligheter. 🌱🌊 Vi ser frem til å fortsette dette viktige arbeidet. De største verdiene skaper vi sammen! 🤝

Horisont Energi er den del av Industriell Symbiose Haugalandet hvor målsetningen er å øke ressursutnyttelse ved å identifisere og kartlegge mulige symbioser på Haugalandet. Gismarvik CO2 hub kan bli en viktig brikke i arbeidet med å tilrettelegge for utvikling av ny grønn industri på Haugalandet. Nå inviteres alle bedriftene på Haugalandet til å delta i en spørreundersøkelse for å identifisere nye løsninger for ressursutnyttelse og samarbeidsprosjekter som kan gagne næringslivet og miljøet. It was a great pleasure to be a part of the signing ceremony for the ECOLOG Collaboration Agreement regarding the Norway-Netherlands CO2 Corridor in Bergen last week. The Collaboration Agreement with ECOLOG, Tata Steel Nederland, Port of Amsterdam, OCAP Group, DNB, Haugaland Næringspark / Haugaland Business Park and ABN AMRO Bank N.V. strengthen Norway’s ties to the European continent and will enhance the attractiveness of Gismarvik CO2 hub and new CO2 storage sites on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. "A Norwegian-Dutch CO2 corridor can enable permanent and safe sequestration of significant CO2 volumes, to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable future”, says Horisont Energi’s Co-CEOs Bjørgulf Haukelidsæter Eidesen and Leiv Olav Kallestad.
