📢 Innovate Future and Borana University Join Forces: A Global Mission for Food Security and Resilience 🌍 This week, Innovate Future proudly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Borana University in Ethiopia. Together, we’re embarking on a groundbreaking initiative to research and develop solutions for increasing food and animal feed production in some of the world’s most climate-affected regions. One of our focus areas is pastoralist regions, where recurring droughts have severely impacted food access for both humans and livestock. This partnership also brings an eye-opening perspective: if Norway’s borders were fully closed, the nation’s level of food self-sufficiency would mirror the same challenges Ethiopia faces today. This stark reality underscores an urgent need for transformation in Norwegian food production, especially as global supply chains become increasingly fragile. Through this collaboration, we aim not only to address Ethiopia’s pressing challenges but also to reimagine and innovate Norway’s food systems. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices, we can enhance food self-sufficiency and resilience in both countries. Are you a forward-thinking pastoralist, farmer, food producer, or industry expert with innovative ideas? If you’re interested in joining this pioneering research project focused on transforming food systems in Ethiopia and Norway, we want to hear from you! Let’s collaborate to build a more sustainable and food-secure future together. 📩 Contact us today to start the conversation! Meeting with iceaddis Collaboration for Future Technology and Job Creation We were fortunate to meet the tech incubator IceAddis, a key player in supporting startups and young tech entrepreneurs in Africa. Through mentoring and funding, they have contributed to the creation of an impressive 60,000 new jobs over the past three years! 👏 We are now exploring opportunities to build bridges between Norwegian and European tech companies in software, robotics, and industrial technology, and IceAddis. The goal is to connect startups and students in Africa with leading players in the tech sector to achieve: • Skill development in technology for young Africans. • New business opportunities for Norwegian and European companies in a region on the verge of a technological breakthrough. We are also considering applying for support to make this collaboration a reality and drive shared value creation. If your company sees opportunities in this initiative, please don’t hesitate to reach out – together, we can foster sustainable technological development and create new business opportunities! #Technology #Innovation #Africa #Collaboration #Entrepreneurship

🌟 Inspiring Change, One Step at a Time 🌍 This week, Innovate Future had the privilege of visiting Passion Furniture Production PLC in Ethiopia – a company that perfectly embodies the fusion of craftsmanship, social responsibility, and sustainability. Led by Erik Gort, a visionary who transitioned from a successful career in finance to making a lasting impact in Ethiopia, Passion Furniture is a beacon of hope and innovation. The company doesn’t just produce high-quality furniture with a focus on precision and excellence. They also transform lives by offering opportunities to individuals who have faced social challenges. Many employees live on-site in dormitories built by the company, where they have access to gardens for growing vegetables and fruits, fostering a sense of community and independence. Erik and his team have gone beyond just employment. They’ve developed water purification systems providing clean water to 100 people in the neighborhood, and energy solutions supplying electricity to an equal number. His wife runs a thriving social enterprise supporting single mothers in Ethiopia – a true testament to their shared commitment to making a difference. During our visit, we discussed introducing technology training and 3D modeling courses to support their continued growth and innovation. Witnessing their passion firsthand has left us inspired and deeply moved. As Innovate Future explores opportunities to collaborate in Ethiopia, this visit has reminded us of the immense power of innovation paired with compassion. We are excited for what lies ahead and look forward to returning to Ethiopia, where possibilities are limitless. 💡 Innovation for a Better Tomorrow. Together. #InnovateFuture #SocialInnovation #Sustainability #Craftsmanship #TechnologyForGood # The factory tour was together with Marita Hammer from Danish Embassy and Balmland Trading, and Galgalo from the Norwegian Embassy.

🌍 Inspiring Visit to A2SV (Africa to Silicon Valley) in Addis Ababa 🌍 This week, Innovate Future AS, represented by Steinar Gulaker, and Marita Hammer from the Danish Embassy/Balmland Trading, had the privilege of visiting A2SV | Africa to Silicon Valley (Africa to Silicon Valley) in Addis Ababa. We were warmly welcomed by the Founder and CEO, Emre Varol, whose passion for building technological competence in Africa is truly inspiring. Emre, a former Google engineer, is now dedicated to equipping African talent with cutting-edge skills to meet the rapidly growing technological demands of the continent. His vision and leadership have made A2SV a resounding success. Through the program, many students have secured positions in global tech giants like Google and Amazon. Notably, Google is not only a key partner but also the largest financial supporter of A2SV's groundbreaking educational initiative. The most remarkable aspect? The program is offered free of charge to African students, ensuring equitable access to top-tier education and fostering technological growth across the continent. During our visit, we were captivated by presentations from current students showcasing their innovative IT projects. The level of knowledge and skill displayed was extraordinary—arguably far ahead of what we see in similar programs at Norwegian universities. This raises an important point: perhaps Norway needs to embark on a study tour to Addis Ababa to rethink and align its technological education with global advancements. (Kunnskapsdepartementet ) We extend our heartfelt thanks to A2SV and Emre Varol for the warm reception and enlightening presentations. We look forward to future collaborations to contribute to Ethiopia’s technological development and beyond. 🚀 Together, we are building bridges between continents, empowering innovation, and shaping the future of technology. 🚀 #Innovation #TechnologyDevelopment #EducationForAll #A2SV #TechLeadership #GlobalCollaboration
