  • ❤️ World AIDS DAY: Health Rights Are Human Rights ❤️ On this #WorldAIDSDay, PBI Nepal reaffirms its commitment to amplifying the voices of those advocating for human rights in Nepal. Aligning with this year’s theme, "Take the Rights Path," we stand with human rights defenders working tirelessly to combat stigma and promote equality for people living with HIV. In Nepal, addressing stigma and ensuring access to health rights are essential to creating a society that values dignity and justice for all. By supporting local human rights initiatives, PBI Nepal fosters an environment where marginalized voices are heard and discrimination is challenged. 💪 Together, let’s uphold health rights as fundamental human rights and take the path toward equality and justice. 💪 #December1st #TakeTheRightsPath #EndHIVStigma #HealthRights #HumanRights #PBINepal #Nepal #Advocacy #EndAIDS

  • 🌍 Fostering Peace Through Dialogue 🕊️ Nepal's remarkable journey as a federal, secular, and republican nation is a testament to the power of embracing diversity and addressing conflicts constructively. Dialogue is more than a conversation—it's a transformative tool that bridges divides and fosters understanding across national, provincial, and community levels. The third Nepal Dialogues Summit 2024, hosted by the Nepal Dialogues Initiative (NDI) in collaboration with 34 peace-related organizations, highlighted the importance of integrating dialogue into all sectors—from government to civil society and private organizations. The summit celebrated Nepali peacebuilding while addressing interfaith conflicts, governance challenges, and the role of civil society and proposed a future Dialogue Council with agendas for 2025. Peace Brigades International Nepal is proud to have supported this significant event, standing alongside changemakers dedicated to advocating for justice, reparation, and inclusive peacebuilding. Together, we explored ways to strengthen networks among Nepal’s peacebuilders, promote intercultural dialogue, and champion justice for victims of conflict. These conversations reaffirm our collective commitment to fostering a culture of dialogue and solidarity, creating pathways to a more harmonious and just society. ✨ Let’s continue collaborating and building a peaceful future for Nepal and beyond. #NepalDialoguesSummit #PeaceBrigadesInternational #DialogueForPeace #JusticeAndReparation #PeaceBuilding

🍃 Our new report, “The Case for Change: Why human rights defenders need a UK law on mandatory due diligence”, highlights six powerful case studies from #Colombia, #Honduras, #Indonesia & #Mexico. Human rights defenders speaking out against corporate abuse shouldn’t face violence and intimidation. Their communities deserve access to justice. These accounts reveal human rights and environmental violations linked to UK businesses. In each case, those who raised concerns were attacked - facing threats and violence. Some were even murdered. Yet accountability for these injustices remains glaringly absent. Human rights defenders like Indigenous leaders, trade unionists and environmental activists are agents for change in their communities and potential allies for many of the UK’s foreign policy goals. They are being smeared, imprisoned and killed as a consequence for doing the right thing. This report underscores an urgent need for a UK law on mandatory business due diligence. We can’t ignore the role that UK-linked businesses should play in preventing these violations. It’s time to protect the defenders who safeguard communities and ecosystems from corporate harm. Stand with us in calling for accountability and safety for those on the frontlines. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dMPktDqV   #bizhumanrights #HRDs

  • 🌏 Empowering Women, Protecting Children: Building a Brighter Future for Nepal 🌏 On #UniversalChildrensDay, PBI Nepal highlights how strengthening women’s rights directly impacts the rights and well-being of Nepal’s children. When women have access to justice, resources, and support, they can provide safer, more stable environments for their children to grow and thrive. By advocating for women’s rights, we’re actively contributing to a future where children are protected from violence, discrimination, and poverty. Through our work in women’s rights, we’re helping create resilient communities that nurture and protect the next generation.
