We love to see cities provide transport options that #supportwomen. In the shared e-scooter space, there’s real disparity. But it’s time to close the gap 🛴✨ Women make up a significantly smaller proportion of riders across Australasia, approximately 24% - 37%. Safety concerns are the primary reason for lower participation. Ario is recognisably more accessible for women. Our three-wheel, self-balancing design is independently tested by the experts at Beca to be safer, more comfortable and provide better stopping control. Trust Ario to design women-friendly rides ✊🙋♀️ and help create more accessible, connected cities. #smartmobility #smartcities #sustinablemobility #smartdevices #micromobility #escooters
About us
Ario has reimagined shared micromobility for the better. We’ve engineered the world’s safest, most advanced shared e-scooter. Our mission is to solve the big on street challenges and create a future where communities love having shared e-scooters as an environmentally friendly transport option. Ario presents a generational shift in hardware and IoT. The self-stabilising design and wishbone suspension provides a safer, more accessible ride and reduces toppling. Our team can remotely repark a scooter in minutes to free up access ways. By taking a 360° visual and depth scan we can detect poor parking or improper use, and deescalate antisocial behaviour before it happens. Launching right here in Aotearoa and Australia in 2024. We invite councils to contact us for a demonstration, email newzealand@ario.ai and australia@ario.ai

We were thrilled to have Mayor Sarah Swan of Woollahra Council demonstrate our e-scooter today. At Ario, we’re committed to providing smart, safe, and innovative transport that helps reduce congestion and carbon emissions. Seeing local leadership take the wheel – or handlebar, in this case – is a clear sign that cities like Woollahra are embracing a greener future. Thanks to Mayor Swan and Woollahra Council for their support as we work toward a more sustainable urban transport solution. #SmartSafeDifferent #Micromobility #Sustainability #Evehicles #Ario #Woollahra #FutureOfTransport #GreenerCities

This Sunday, our outer Auckland trial wraps up 🛴✨ Big thanks to our partners Auckland Council for supporting world-leading transport technology. We improved street accessibility for all by resolving poor parking in record time; an average of eight minutes—more than 10 times faster than the industry target. This was just one of the ways we proved public e-scooter services can keep everyone on the footpath happier, by serving pedestrians as much as riders. We hope to be back in Auckland soon 👋 #rideshare #sustainabletransport #smartdevices #micromobility

We are adding our voice to the call for NZTA to allow Ario to continue reparking its e-scooters by remote control. The decision by the New Zealand Transport Agency to make the Ario e-scooter company turn off its remote reparking feature has drawn criticism from disability groups. Chris Teo-Sherrell from Living Streets says any measure which makes e-scooters more pedestrian friendly is worthwhile and remote parking is one such feature. Good news, on Friday, New Zealand Herald received a response from Transport Minister Simeon Brown who is seeking advice on whether a rule needs to be changed to enable Remote Reparking ✨🛴 This popular feature provides better access for everyone, especially people with disabilities. Thanks to campaigning efforts with Awhi and the open letter from CCS Disability Action, Disability Leadership Canterbury and Access for All Otago, we have some movement on the issue. Great to see RNZ reporting on NZTA's surprising decision to block #micromobilityinnovation. Remote Rangers in our Safety and Access Team can effortlessly repark a scooter left in the way ✨🛴 This popular feature provides better access for everyone, especially people with disabilities. If regulation could support innovation we’d be in a position to make everyone on our footpaths happier. Read the article here 🗞 https://lnkd.in/gmc_WxsV

As a wheelchair user, I frequently come across e-scooters left on pathways, creating unnecessary obstacles for those with mobility impairments and parents with prams. Technology is available to fix this issue, but bureaucracy is getting in the way of practical solutions to address the problem. Ario’s remote parking feature offers a real and immediate improvement for disabled people navigating urban spaces. Ario’s three-wheeled e-scooters make it hard to topple and can be remotely parked by an operator when left in inappropriate places, helping ensure pathways stay clear. But in August, NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi ruled that this feature doesn’t meet current regulations, leading to it being disabled. CCS Disability Action has joined the call for NZTA to reinstate Ario's remote reparking function. Check out the link below. Let’s keep pushing for innovative solutions that make public spaces more inclusive. #Inclusion #Accessibility #Micromobility #NZ https://lnkd.in/g-EQJ7gs

Carelessly parked e-scooters are a considerable issue for Kiwis with mobility impairments. While the only long-term solution we support for e-scooters is the provision of adequate infrastructure – in the form of micromobility lanes and parking spaces – we were excited by the potential for Ario's remote parking features to make a difference for disabled people navigating the urban environment. If one of Ario’s three-wheeled e-scooters is left in an inappropriate place, a remote operator can take remote control of the e-scooter and, using cameras and sensors on the scooter, move it a few metres to a safe parking spot. But in August of this year, the New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) decided that this function did not meet the current regulations. This is because, while being piloted remotely, they felt the engine did not meet the criteria of an 'auxiliary engine'. CCS Disability Action has joined the call for NZTA to reinstate Ario's remote reparking function. We have co-signed an open letter to ask NZTA to reinstate Ario's remote reparking function. You can learn more about the technology and read the open letter here: https://lnkd.in/gUxAtTcg
