Last night we were delighted to join TupuToa in celebrating Māori and Pasifika young leaders and change-makers at their annual Gala Dinner. 🌟 Our partnership with TupuToa, which began in 2018, has enabled us to expand internship opportunities for Māori and Pasifika students. It was a pleasure to have Foundation trustee Hone McGregor, along with Tina Wei (Silver Fern Farms), Yeliz Ruso (KPMG New Zealand), Alex Lee (Doc Edge), Foundation’s ASEAN Young Business Leaders Initiative (YBLI) members Helen Paul-Smith and Angela Cudd and former interns Fine Lavoni Koloamatangi (South Korea) and Brandon Jost-Turei (China) join us for this celebration. Huge congratulations to TupuToa and everyone involved in making the evening a success. 👏 Suzannah Jessep | Nick Siu | Aroha Armstrong

Last week, we conducted the 7th Track II exchange with the Indian Council of World Affairs in Christchurch 🌏. Over a day conversation, we explored the prospects and challenges small and medium powers face amid great power geopolitics in these uncertain times. We discussed respective approaches and priorities regarding foreign policy and international relations, highlighting sectors and industries for greater collaboration and people-to-people engagement, as well as ways to elevate these relationships to the next level, both bilaterally and regionally. The visit also featured a programme showcasing Christchurch’s global connections, from the International Antarctic Centre to the ChristchurchNZ Antarctic Office, and included a deep dive into the city’s remarkable post-quake resilience with visits to the Christ Church Cathedral and Quake City. A big thank you to Honorary Adviser Lianne Dalziel CNZM for leading an inspiring walking tour 🏙️.
