We are thrilled to support the Australian Energy Market Commission's (AEMC) reform to accelerate the smart meter rollout across the National Electricity Market by 2030. This is a significant step towards a modern, connected, efficient energy system that will deliver benefits for people, for businesses and for the planet. Smart meters are key infrastructure that deliver digital capability to enable households and businesses to interact more effectively with the grid and access new products and services. Bluecurrent is ready to play our part and committed to working constructively with our customers and regulators to deliver on this promise. Together we can unlock the full potential of smart meters, ensuring a sustainable and cost-effective energy future for Australia.

Our Christchurch team recently took part in the 2024 Corporate Challenge, held in Hagley Park each year. Completing a 5k course, the 15 team members and their support crew had a great time celebrating health and wellbeing, having fun and eating some post-race kai. Well-done to Dave Collie, 2nd in his age group and Helmut Walle, 7th in his age group. A special thank you to our organiser extraordinaire, Carolina Ceron.

There were two amazing shoutouts for our field technician Tedy recently. One from a business manager, “I must highly commend your technician. He was polite, efficient and personable. A great worker,” and one from a residential customer, “Your Bluecurrent man came today. He called a couple of days beforehand, sent pictures of what he did and said our dog was lovely. A+.” Great work Tedy!

We recently marked Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) with easy daily challenges like sharing messages of gratitude and encouraging connection with each other. Hot on the heels of R U OK? day in Australia, some of our Sydney team went for a lunchtime walk in solidarity with the New Zealand team and to share the MHAW message. What a great way to acknowledge the importance of looking after ourselves and each other, no matter where your team is based. #MentalHealthAwareness
