EECA (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority) Low Emission Heavy Vehicle Fund supports getting zero and low-emissions vehicles on NZ’s roads. Check out their post below which highlights some of the advantages of hydrogen vehicles and how you can access the fund. Fast refuelling – It typically takes around 10-15 minutes to refuel a hydrogen truck, similar to diesel. Range – Hydrogen fuel cell trucks have a range comparable to diesel trucks making them suitable for long-distance hauling. Power and torque – Like fully battery electric trucks, hydrogen fuel cell trucks deliver strong, consistent power and torque. This, paired with their strong range performance make them well-suited for heavy-duty tasks like freight transport. High payload capacity – Hydrogen fuel cell trucks typically have lighter powertrain systems than battery electric trucks, allowing for higher payloads without reducing range.
Our Low Emissions Heavy Vehicle Fund aims to increase the number of zero and low-emissions heavy vehicles on New Zealand's roads and provide market signals to manufacturers to encourage supply. 🚚 Discover how hydrogen fuel cell and dual fuel trucks are cutting diesel use and reducing CO2 emissions. NZ Post NZ saved 40,000 litres of diesel and lowered CO2 by 110 tonnes. Meanwhile, HW Richardson Group is converting trucks to run on both hydrogen and diesel, a solution that lowers a vehicle's carbon emissions by around 30%. Learn more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gFqgkGYv
