About us

McKenzie & Co. Consultants Ltd offer full end-to-end land development services including strategic planning, civil engineering, surveying and contract administration. Established in 2014, McKenzie & Co. was founded on a passion for quality design. We wanted to develop great places that people would love, and we were driven to ensure that we built excellent working relationships with key stakeholders along the way. As well as a desire for superior design, we also aspired to offer a great work culture for a new and progressive team. We knew we would be working hard to achieve outstanding results, but we wanted to have fun along the way. Since our inception, the business has fast become a centre of excellence for land development solutions. With every project we take on, we use masterful planning, expert engineering and experienced management to maximise land value and deliver on time. Expanding rapidly from the outset, we now proudly boast a workforce of 80 highly qualified and experienced development advisors, project managers, engineers, surveyors, planners and support staff across the country. With office hubs in Auckland City, Manukau, Taupo and Queenstown as well as satellite offices in Warkworth, Rotorua & Tauranga, we’ve got you covered.

  • Our McKenzie & Co Queenstown team rolled up their sleeves last week to help tackle wilding pines up the Ben Lomond track in Queenstown. These invasive pines threaten the local environment, and the team proudly supports the Department of Conservation (DOC) Adopt-a-Plot initiative, managing our sponsored section twice a year. After a hard day of thirsty work, the team wrapped up with a well-deserved beer at the Skyline. Want to join this passionate team? You can! We’re currently recruiting for two engineering roles in Queenstown & NZ wide. If you’re looking for meaningful work in an incredible location, where no two days are the same, we’d love to hear from you! #GreatPeople #McKenzieandCo #Engineering #CivilEngineering #GreatPeopleMKC #EngineeringCareers #Queenstown #NewZealand Rob Stewart

  • At McKenzie & Co, we recently hosted a Property Development Seminar, a collaboration with leading industry experts Campbell Brown Planning, Kingstons, and Pacific Environments NZ Ltd to provide insights on navigating land development projects. In this industry, no project is simple – land development involves layers of regulation, unforeseen challenges, and the need for precise coordination. Our approach is to work closely with clients, understanding their goals and anticipating potential roadblocks so they can move forward with confidence. As Civil Engineer Wei Zhang highlighted, a seemingly straightforward site can quickly reveal unexpected complexities, making it essential to have an expert team to guide the process. This seminar was our second in a growing series, and we’re excited to host more in 2025. If you’re interested in learning how we can help you approach your project strategically and avoid surprises, please get in touch – we’d love to connect. #McKenzie&Co #LandDevelopment #Engineering #Surveying #DevelopingGreatPlacesAndPeople
