Co-founder & CEO at Critical. | Startmate Accelerator S22 Alumni | TEDx Speaker | I help designers create beautiful spaces using 100% recycled plastic panels called Cleanstone.

🌍 Calling All Creative Hustlers! 🎥 I'm looking for a Content Creator to join our journey and help us build the "Apple of circular materials." Think bold ideas, viral storytelling, and content that inspires and add value to designers, and businesses. Do you dream of creating content that not only goes viral but also changes the world? At Critical., we’re on a mission to end plastic waste and revolutionise the building materials industry. Our innovative product, Cleanstone, turns waste into beautiful, functional materials, and we’re growing. We do this by transforming plastic waste into beautiful, sustainable building materials like Cleanstone, helping architects, designers, and builders create spaces that honor both creativity and kaitiakitanga (guardianship of the environment). 🌟 About the role This role is about more than creating content. It’s about being obsessed with our customers, experimenting with what works/ what doesn't and sharing how our work connects to the health of our people and our planet. From TikTok to Instagram, you’ll help us reach audiences far and wide, creating videos and posts that inspire, educate, and spark change. 🌏 What we’re looking for Someone who understands the power of storytelling and how it can uplift people and the planet. A creative thinker who is not precious about ideas but obsessed with our customers and what works for our brand. You love experimenting with new ideas while ready to share bold, authentic messages with the world. A person with a growth mindset, always learning, adapting, and improving. Someone who can connect and empathise with designers and change makers, helping them see the potential in a more sustainable future. ✨ Why join Critical.? At Critical., we live by values like tiakitanga (guardianship) and manaakitanga (care for others). Joining our team means working together to create a future where sustainability and beauty coexist—where we leave the world better than we found it. This role is flexible, based in Auckland, and offers opportunities to grow alongside us. 🌱 How to apply If this sounds like you - drop me your social media handles and send your CV, portfolio, and a 60-second video introducing yourself to me - rui@criticaldesign.nz. We’d love to hear why you’re drawn to this kaupapa (purpose) and how you can help bring your unique voice to Critical. Follow me here or us on Instagram: @critical.things or visit criticaldesign.nz to learn more.

  • ️⭐️Soul’s CEO and Founder, Jamie Newth, was recently featured by the University of Auckland's Business School! Although Jamie is currently on leave from the University to focus on Soul, he made time to return to the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) to lend his expertise to the Kurutao programme—an inspiring initiative empowering Māori tauira (students) to explore entrepreneurship💥 Since launching Te Pae ki te Rangi, with the support of cornerstone investor Foundation North, we’ve gained valuable insights into how we can best invest in ventures led by Māori, Pasifika, Rainbow, Disability, and migrant communities. We've learned that supporting these communities and their ventures isn't limited to the capital we provide. It means mentorship, engagement, and providing support at key stages of their entrepreneurial journeys🚀 Our goal is to contribute to a more equitable and inclusive economy. By empowering those who’ve been underrepresented, we’re reshaping the future of entrepreneurship, starting with rangatahi—the next generation of innovators. And we’re so damn honoured and excited to be supporting them✨ Have a look at the article below to read more about Kurutao and Kara Technologies - one of our first portfolio companies that emerged from UoA and supported by Velocity and CIE👏

“We’re trying to nudge our economy to that more sustainable, inclusive place by changing the entrepreneurial ecosystem to have some direction behind it – rather than just more of the status quo.” As the founder and CEO of impact investment organisation Soul Capital, Business School Senior Lecturer Dr Jamie Newth is proud to have created a model of investing and enterprise which is resonant with all of society. Soul Capital’s support of socially-minded start-ups like Kara Technologies, which has developed tech to make media content more accessible for sign language users, demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to driving more equitable outcomes. • 🚀We launched the Soul Capital Founder Forum this past week!✨👏 This Series is for supporting our growing cohort of diverse and impact-driven founders through a range of educational and connecting sessions.    A big shoutout to Randy Komisar for leading our first session, speaking on capital raising 💸 His candid and practical advice on navigating the US as Kiwi founders was interesting and provocative! Randy shared insights on the differences in raising here in Aotearoa vs the US, how public policy (or lack thereof) affects impact-focused companies, and understanding risk reduction when it comes to timing a capital raise. Looking forward to future sessions!💫⛰️ #ImpactInvestment #CapitalRaising #Founders
