Structure Design, in collaboration with Russell Poole and Russell Property Group, is honored to have received an award from The Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE) in London for our work on the 66 Oxford Terrace project in Christchurch, NZ. This project involved the restoration and redevelopment of a 12-storey apartment tower that had remained vacant since the 2011 Canterbury earthquakes. Our team successfully transformed the building into a premium residential complex, blending structural preservation with modern design to create high-end apartments. These awards have celebrated outstanding contributions by structural engineers to industry, society, engineering literature and Institution life for over 50 years. What a weekend we have had. Development Manager Grant Thomas travelled to the UK this week with our beautiful apartments at 66 Oxford Terrace Christchurch a finalist in the International Structural Awards - and he is bringing home the win. The award recognises the pioneering retrofit approach to save a seismically damaged building. We have always supported sustainability and giving new life to a building wherever this is possible. Oxford Terrace is testament to what can be achieved when all partners collaborate towards this goal. Our thanks and congratulations to the entire project team but particularly to Structure Design Ltd and Phoenix Consulting Ltd.
