We recently sponsored the Property Council New Zealand site tour of the new One New Zealand Stadium. It was a fantastic opportunity to get inside this incredible development and hear first hand about the build. As proud Cantabrians, we are excited to see the stadium grow, and are looking forward to the positive impact it will have for our community. 

We are proud to highlight the work of our consultant, John Craw, in his recent fight against the Christchurch City Council. Their sea-level rise plan for Banks Peninsula would cut off road access to his property, and that of others, in Port Levy. As someone who was born, has farmed, and continues to live on the Peninsula, John is very passionate about his community and its future. John brings invaluable local knowledge and a deep understanding of the community's unique challenges, ensuring that the solutions proposed will not only be effective but also considerate of the local way of life. One of the highlights this year was Sam Thorp's promotion to Partner. To celebrate this achievement, he appeared on Chisholm Clarke's 'What a Lawyer Podcast,' where he discussed his journey from Clerk to Partner in just seven years. His episode became the top performer of the season. We think it's well worth a listen, and clearly lots of other people did too. Check it out over the summer break!

Whilst we are proud of all of the work we do, there are some projects that stand out. Our recent collaboration with Paddy, Gayle and Rebecca Cotter, and Fox and Associates, to progress a covenant aimed at protecting the Rehutai Museum at Menzies Bay, Banks Peninsula, is one of those. We are proud to continue our support for Aviva by donating gifts again this Christmas. Our staff have been donating unwrapped gifts to help brighten the holiday season for families impacted by family and sexual violence. Aviva is a remarkable organisation dedicated to supporting families affected by family and sexual violence. Each year, they gather gifts and donations to help alleviate the stress and financial burden many families face during the holiday season. We are thrilled to welcome Georgia Taylor to our team as a Summer Law Clerk. Georgia has joined us at an exciting time of year, filled with numerous social activities and opportunities to connect with our team. As a Summer Clerk, she will gain invaluable exposure across various areas of law, working alongside many of our partners and solicitors. This hands-on experience is designed to provide a good insight to our firm's operations and the legal landscape.

We are delighted to announce that Amelia MacDonald has joined our team as a Law Clerk. Amelia was selected from a pool of outstanding candidates, and we are excited to have her on board. Our commitment to our graduate programme ensures that we bring in a great team of young professionals every year, and Amelia is a fantastic addition to our office. We are looking forward to seeing her grow in her role. We are dedicated to her development and look forward to supporting her growth as she gains valuable experience across various legal areas.

On Wednesday night, our team had an amazing time taking part in the Corporate Challenge 5k run in Hagley Park. We are incredibly proud of all our participants for their enthusiasm, effort, and team spirit. A special shoutout to our Partner, Glen Ryan, who came second in the CEO race. Time to start training for next year!

On Sunday, our White Fox & Jones duck took part in the More FM Great Canterbury Duck Race! This fantastic event was all about raising funds for Life Education Trust and supporting children across Canterbury. It was a thrilling race down the Avon River, and while our duck didn’t win, it still made it to the end in one piece - so we are proud nonetheless!
