Nanjing Grand Hyatt: Experience and Reflection I planned to visit Nanjing several times and booked Nanjing Grand Hyatt each time, but had to cancel for various reasons. This time, I finally checked in successfully, which must be fate. Unfortunately, the weather was bad and overcast, so my original flower viewing trip had to be postponed. However, this also gave me more time to experience this long-awaited hotel. Suite Experience Fortunately, the management team upgraded me to a suite. However, the design of this suite is a bit special. It seems that when the building was divided into spaces, the regular spaces were used as standard rooms, and the remaining irregular corners were integrated and transformed into suites. The room layout is an L-shape with a stepped decrease. Upon entering the room, there is a long corridor, with a narrow glass window and a compact workbench at the end. Turning inside, there is a small living room, like a widened corridor. The washing space on the inside is very crowded, with a bathtub squeezed into the corner next to the single basin. The two bathrooms are not only small, but also dimly lit. The innermost bedroom has two sides of lighting, but there is not enough space to place a TV. The garden specially recommended by the front desk lady is actually an open space between two high walls, next to the corridor, with no privacy at all. There is also a low wall on the outside, blocking the view of the outside scenery. However, some small details in the room show the hotel's thoughtfulness, such as the soft couch with triangular pillows, the mirror TV in the bathroom, the heated towel rail, the rich health tea, and the pillow spray given during turndown service. Executive Lounge and Service The executive lounge is located on the top floor of the annex building and has an outdoor viewing platform. Although afternoon tea is not provided, the carefully prepared evening happy hour is excellent. The puffer fish and crab porridge served that day was seasonal and delicious. The ladies in the lounge provided attentive service, were responsive, and met all requests. Breakfast Experience The breakfast the next day was also impressive. The hotel always adheres to the health theme, with whole grain bread, five-grain health porridge, and freshly squeezed cucumber juice, which are healthy and nutritious. Of course, you can also choose to taste local specialties, such as red soup noodles, small wontons, and sugar taro seedlings, paired with meat buns. Even if you eat a lot, you can still go to the gym next door to exercise. Summary and Recommendation Overall, as long as you choose the right room, the check-in experience will be very good. For Hyatt Globalists, this hotel is very cost-effective and worth visiting multiple times.
