  • Ambassador Christian Lyster recently made a courtesy visit to Secretary Hans Cacdac of the Department of Migrant Workers, fostering a positive dialogue on important collaboration opportunities. During their meeting, they discussed initiatives focused on green maritime practices and the digitalization of the shipping industry, highlighting the shared commitment to modernization and sustainability. With approximately 25,000 Filipinos currently serving on Norwegian vessels and around 28,000 residing in Norway across various professional sectors—including nurses, engineers, IT technicians, and those in elementary occupations—the discussions aimed to enhance the integration and contributions of Filipino workers in the maritime sector. This engagement underscores the strong partnership between the Philippines and Norway and the importance of improving conditions for Filipino professionals abroad. In photo left to right : Ana F.
