It grants us full commercial exploitation rights, thus enabling the translation of this innovative research into market-ready solutions, such as the #GOcap®. 🚀 The technology was developed at INEB and i3S - Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde, in collaboration with the Universidade do Porto of Porto, during Patrícia C. Henriques' PhD. This agreement underscores the vital role of #collaboration between research institutions and industry in driving scientific innovation toward real-world applications. The #patented technology represents a significant advancement in the field of #antimicrobial applications. Given the broad scope of our patent, we can use this technology to address global challenges across industries, including healthcare, food safety, and water treatment. Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week: A Call for Innovation 👩🔬🚀 November 18-24 marks Antimicrobial Awareness Week, an invitation to reflect on one of the greatest public health challenges: antimicrobial resistance (AMR). As bacteria, viruses, and fungi evolve to resist treatment, our reliance on antibiotics grows increasingly unsustainable. The consequences of #AMR affect everyone—from patients battling infections to industries dealing with its economic and societal costs, while conscious of the need for innovation. At GOTECH, we are proud to contribute to the fight against AMR with innovative, antibiotic-free solutions. Our #GOcap, powered by light-activated #graphene, represents a new approach to antimicrobial protection. Last week, Patrícia C. Henriques and Inês Gonçalves headed to Düsseldorf, Germany 🇩🇪 – considered by many the European capital of sushi 🍣, who would have thought, right? It actually has a huge Japanese community, hence the sushi 😌 – for the #MEDICA trade fair.
