🎓 𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗖-𝗜𝗗 𝗣𝗵𝗗 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 🌟 Beginnings often carry symbolic meaning, and October 25 was a memorable day for INESC-ID’s PhD students. We held our 1st official PhD Students Annual Meeting, bringing together around 40 PhD students from 10 different scientific areas, across two campuses. 🤝 This special event took place during an exclusive parallel session at the INESC Lisboa Meeting 2024. Organised by the INESC-ID's PhD Students Volunteer Team and the Communication and Outreach Office, PhD student Daniel Gonçalves led a collaborative discussion to address challenges encountered as students and build solutions. In the first half of the session, in a rapid ideation brainstorming format, students had a few minutes to meet each other (many for the first time) before before diving into sharing the main difficulties they experience. In the second half, they discussed and presented actionable solutions, which will be further explored in depth and implemented at INESC-ID in the future. 🧠💡 The enthusiasm was palpable! There was no shortage of ideas, only of time, and many students expressed that the discussions could have continued much longer, highlighting the need for ongoing dialogue and support. Following the INESC-ID PhD Students Volunteer Team’s motto: “To build a supportive community and promote collaboration among students” - key ingredients for success at our institution - plans are already underway to make next year’s event bigger and attract even more students, making it an annual tradition at INESC-ID. Judging by the commitment demonstrated by our students at this first meeting, the future looks bright! 🌟🚀 🔗 To know more about the INESC Lisboa event👇https://lnkd.in/dAmqznDu #PhDStudents #Community #Collaboration #INESCID #FutureLeaders
