🇶🇦 Reflecting on week 1 for the Energy specialization in the context of my ongoing EMBA in HEC Paris in Qatar campus in Doha: A dynamic lineup of insightful lectures by renowned faculty and prominent guest speakers through 5 chapters: Part I) The Fundamentals of Gas and LNG, Oil Markets (both Upstream and Downstream) with Professor Jean-Michel Gauthier Part II)The Geo-Economics and Geopolitics of Energy with Prof. Jean-Michel Gauthier. Part III) Financing and Managing Multi-Stakeholder Projects in the Energy Industry with Professor Joseph J. Nehme. Part IV) #EnergyPolicy Trilemma (Energy sustainability, Energy affordability and Energy Security) with His Excellency Dr. Mohammed S. Al Sada, former Minister of Energy and Industry of Qatar and Qatar Petroleum’s Managing Director. The challenges of the Road to #NetZero in the region, the geopolitical tensions that impact the energy security and the current status of renewables energies in GCC were as well other subjects among the multiple present challenges related to energy sustainability, affordability and security, that were discussed. Several others inspiring speakers provided an edge to our specialization as: - Mr. Fahad Al-Khater, Chief Offshore, Terminals & Refining Officer at QatarEnergy LNG; - Mr. Haider Alabdulaal, Adviser in Policy and Strategic Planning at the Ministry of Energy, Riyadh-KSA; - Mr. Serge Pierre Besanger, a Consulting Expert at the IMF. The visit allowed us to gain insights about the innovative technology in the gas-to-liquids sector making ORYX GTL, one of the leading downstream companies in the world.
