Drones allow us to cover vast areas quickly and capture high-resolution images that traditional surveys can’t match. This gives our clients a complete and accurate view of their sites, supporting the design process with precision and aiding consulting services. Ocean Day at COP29 Azerbaijan 💙🩵🤍 Leaving #COP29 tired and inspired. Over the last few days I’ve had the honour of taking part in several panels, roundtable and implementation lab representing Fugro. The dialogues ranged from how we tackle high-level, global targets through to local mobilisation and funding. And, guess what?! Data and collaboration are always at the centre of the challenges and solutions.💡 It’s been a real pleasure to share the platform and speak with so many knowledgable and motivated individuals, organisations and government officials. Thank you: 🏝️ Loreley Picourt and the ‘Ocean Rise & Coastal Resilience Coalition’ for the discussion on coastal adaptation and why we need to take action at a local level. I really enjoyed hearing the work being done to tackle the challenges shared by Cate Hart and Kobie Brand. 🌆 Giorgia Rambelli and Andy Deacon for driving ‘The Sustainable Transition is Urban’ session sharing and discussing the next steps following the #Innovate4Cities conference, and the Montreal Call to Action. The insightful lessons, perspectives and actions from Siir Kilkis, Mayor Manuel Araujo, Deputy Mayor Sayyara Musayeva and Birgit Ahlers shows how important local engagement is for driving net-zero, resilient cities. 🌊 Shamini Selvaratnam, Loreley Picourt and Luz Angélica G. and the other many amazing speakers for the engaging ‘Ocean Breakthroughs for 1.5c’ implementation lab. Addressing how we overcome challenges; enable technology, finance and policy; and the important role of the private sector in scaling ocean-based climate solutions, was a very motivating session to finish my #COP29 journey. Finally, the #OceanPavilion was once again an outstanding and vibrant hub, full of ocean enthusiasts wanting to learn and work together.
