Produktion av förnybar energi

Alight develops, operates and owns solar assets for corporations across Europe to accelerate the transition to solar.

Om oss

At Alight, we’re on a mission to kick carbon off the grid by helping energy-intensive businesses switch to solar. We develop, own and operate onsite and offsite solar projects across Europe and sell the clean energy to businesses at a low, fixed cost backed by a power purchase agreement (PPA), always independent of government funding or subsidies. By 2030, we aim to have an installed capacity of at least 5 GW, paving the way for a more sustainable future.

  • Building a large-scale #solar park is no small feat. It involves planning preparatory ground work, piling, mounting panels, laying cables, connecting to the grid and a million things more. But the result is so impactful. When we commission the 64 MWp solar park in Hallstavik later this spring, it will be Sweden's largest solar park and it will bring additional renewable electricity to the grid, thanks to a power purchase agreement signed with Axfood. Here’s a glimpse into the construction from last fall. A lot has happened since then, and we're excited to show you the finished product soon. Stay tuned!

  • Have you ever been inside a transformer station? Usually it's off limits, but we got special access earlier this week when we took SEB on a tour of our 64 MWp #solar park under construction in Hallstavik, Sweden. The solar park will be Sweden's largest when it's commissioned later this spring, and its construction was made possible through debt financing from SEB. Axfood has committed to buying the clean electricity produced, which will equal approximately 15% of its total electricity consumption. • ☀️ The potential for #solar in Sweden is sky-high, but are we moving fast enough to meet the rising energy demands? Between 2019 and June 2024, a total of 597 solar installations were approved, with a potential electricity production of 4.8 TWh (equivalent to the annual household electricity consumption of just over 900,000 homes). But by the end of the first half of 2024, 463 applications for solar parks were still awaiting decisions from the county administrative boards, corresponding to 17 TWh. "There's great interest, applications are pouring in and more parks are getting approval. But it could go much faster. Many projects are on hold at the county administrative boards and at the grid companies, which is frustrating for the industry," says Madeleine van der Veer, operations manager at Nätverket för solparker. • The journey from #solar developer to independent power producer (IPP) is an ambitious one, and it's not entirely linear, as Alight's Head of Investment César Torres and Better Energy co-founder and CFO Mark Augustenborg Ødum discussed on stage at the Solar and Storage Finance Series in London this week. At its core, an IPP sells certainty. We deliver long-term, predictable energy at competitive prices to energy-intensive businesses through PPAs. We also provide the flexibility that customers need, whether that’s structuring contracts to match their #sustainability goals, integrating #storage, or leveraging innovative hedging strategies. Thanks for Charles Lesser from Alexa Capital for moderating an insightful session!

  • 🇫🇮 In 2024, Finland installed approximately 200 MW of solar, according to figures from Solar Energy Finland -Suomen Aurinkoenergiayhdistys. This is down from 349 MW added in 2023, bringing the country’s total cumulative capacity to about 1.2 GW. And only a fraction of that is large-scale solar. At Alight, we see huge potential for solar in #Finland. To put our impact in context, since entering the Finnish market a little over a year ago, we've built a strong development pipeline of over 800 MW and made real progress on several projects — including two #solar parks totalling 180 MW+ that are expected to begin construction this year. We have grand plans in 2025 to help the country meet its rising electricity demands while contributing to its energy independence. Stay tuned for more news soon... In the meantime, you can read more about the state of solar in Finland from pv magazine Global via the link in the comments ⬇️

  • ☀️ It's been a tough environment for green projects recently, but #solar continues to shine! Thanks to €53 million in debt financing from Danske Bank, we're proud to share that when completed later this year, the 100 MWp Hultsfred solar farm will be crowned Sweden's largest solar farm. The project, co-developed and co-owned by Alight and Neoen, will generate enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of 20,000 homes and will be sold to H&M Group under a long-term #PPA. Clearly, there's still a ravenous appetite among investors and businesses to finance green projects that mitigate the effects of #climatechange, and at Alight, we're planning to invest hundreds of millions of euro more in additional solar parks that will help to meet Sweden's growing demand for clean electricity. 👀 Read the full article from Dagens Industri via the link in the comments.
