Just back from Stockholm Furniture Fair, where Hunting & Narud had the pleasure of designing Flokk stand, a 500 m² space built with sustainability at its core. With an afterlife-focused approach, we minimised waste by constructing the stand from recycled cardboard, which will be taken apart and fully recycled post-fair. Keeping in mind our commitment to reducing waste, we also asked Tarkett ,ateljé Lyktan, and Wästberg who generously lent us some of their great products to fill in the gaps. The room dividers were made from large tubes used for textile rolls, sourced directly from the factory - which will again be recycled. We had so much fun exploring Flokk rich material world and introducing lots of new colours and textiles from Kvadrat, Gudbrandsdalens Uldvarefabrik as, Gabriel, and Camira A huge thank you to the whole team at Flokk and for the trust and hard work – and to everyone who stopped by.

The Psychiatry House at Uppsala University Hospital is an architectural entity where light, materials, and colors interact to create a safe and harmonious care environment. The award-winning building, designed by Tengbom, is created with a focus on promoting the well-being of both patients and staff. Our contribution to the project was the development and production of approximately 430 unique luminaires, Trapp, designed by Torbjörn Eliasson and Andreas Sture at White Architects. The luminaires were placed in the stairwells, contributing to a welcoming and safe atmosphere.💡🏥 Read more: https://lnkd.in/d9szgPkk #hospital #architecture #luminaires #madeinsweden

Historic lanterns given a Second life 💡 Djurgårdsbron was inaugurated in 1897 in conjunction with the major Art and Industrial Exhibition held that same year. The large iron bridge, designed by engineer Carl Frænell and architect Erik Josephson, features decorations created by artist Rolf Adlersparre. The bridge stands out due to its aesthetic design, with detailed bridge piers, candelabras, wrought-iron railings, and four sculptures depicting Norse gods. At the northern pier stand Heimdall and Frigga, while Thor and Freya guard the southern pier. Given the bridge’s significant cultural and historical value, preserving its long-standing character was essential when updating its lighting. Stockholm's Traffic Office, together with Anna Albrechtsson, tasked ateljé Lyktan with renovating the bridge’s historic lanterns. The goal was to extend the lifespan of the lanterns while improving their functionality. The lamp housings were carefully dismantled, worn-out parts were replaced, and the glass was renewed. The outdated light sources were upgraded to modern LED technology. This Second life project resulted in improved light quality and energy efficiency, without compromising the lanterns' original aesthetic charm. More photos and information: https://lnkd.in/dSc5uxfk
