Yesterday, we gathered at the stunning Nedre Manilla at Djurgården in Stockholm to celebrate an incredible milestone - reaching one million paying users earlier this fall 💜 The evening was filled with laughter, delicious food, and wonderful company, all set against the backdrop of such a beautiful and inspiring location. As if that wasn’t magical enough, the first snow of the year graced us on the very same day! ❄️

Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for everyone to find and experience great stories. So whether you want to contribute by becoming a part of our team and put your skills within product development, design, analysis, marketing or literature to work or just want an easy way to enjoy a great book - we invite you to join us!

Nearly 98,000 people visited the Helsinki Book Fair this year – how incredible to see so many literature lovers come together! 📚 Over the course of four days, we at BookBeat handed out more than 4.500 ice creams, thousands of tote bags, and shared countless memorable moments with our lovely customers. 💜 We also hosted inspiring conversations including engaging talks with popular authors Maija Kajanto and Sointu Borg, and a dynamic panel discussion with beloved audiobook narrators Ilkka Villi and Sanna Majuri. And as every year, we proudly awarded the well-deserved Rising Star of the year (Vuoden Tulokas) title to Iida Turpeinen and Crime Author of the Year (Vuoden Dekkaristi) to Satu Rämö based on listening data of BookBeat's customers, warm congratulations to both! Thanks to everyone who visited and see you next year! 👋😍

👻 Halloween at BookBeat was all treats and just the right amount of tricks! Last Friday we organized a costume competition (that some of our lovely four-legged firends also participated in - how cute is Bob (the Builder)? 🐶), a hidden skull hunt, and ended the day with a Halloween-themed AW. Always great to add some seasonal fun into our work week 🥳

Meet Niclas Lindstedt, one of our Architects and the tech lead for our API team, making seamless user experiences a reality together with the team at BookBeat. Drawn to our collaborative culture and modern tech stack, Niclas values the mix of our "startup energy" and Bonnier-backed stability. Get to know him and his role a bit more in this interview! 🤩💜 Oh and by the way, we're hiring for another Architect role at the moment! Curious to know more about the role and who we're looking for? Don't miss out on this opportunity: https://lnkd.in/dbk38pxy Who are you and what are you up to at BookBeat? My name is Niclas Lindstedt. I'm an IT architect at BookBeat, currently working as the tech lead for the API team. Our mission is to ensure seamless interactions between our users and backend systems, making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. You joined Team BookBeat about half a year ago. What made you choose BookBeat? What really drew me to BookBeat was the warm atmosphere. The people here are incredibly competent, friendly, and fun to be around. The technology stack is modern and interesting, which is a big plus. I also like the size of the company; it has the excitement of a startup, but without the typical uncertainties that come with it. Being part of the Bonnier group adds stability, and it feels great to be part of such a reputable organization. All in all, I look forward to coming to work every day. How would you describe your time at BookBeat so far? It's been fantastic! I've already had the opportunity to work in two different teams, each with its own unique challenges. I feel like I've been able to contribute from the very start. The organization does a great job of recognizing my strengths and interests, and encourages me to develop them further, which has been incredibly rewarding. For example, I am very interested in LLMs, and have gotten the opportunity to hold an internal AI course. What is the best part of your role? Getting to work with highly skilled colleagues to develop a product that hundreds of thousands of people use every day. I also love that I get to work with distributed systems handling high traffic loads, which is both challenging and interesting. Each day feels very exciting and fulfilling.

🌟 What a fantastic time we had at the Frankfurt Book Fair! 🌟 From handing out our popular BookBeat totebags (always a hit!) to meeting so many passionate people, it was a whirlwind of great conversations and connections. Our highlights? Our CEO Niclas absolutely nailed his speech, bringing fresh perspectives to the industry and inspiring us all. 👏 As well as hosting our amazing Blogger breakfast - how fun to finally meet so many of you in person! 💜 It was also a pleasure catching up with our wonderful publishing partners – and a special shoutout to Hörbuch Hamburg HHV GmbH, who we shared our booth with. We’re lucky to work with such incredible teams. 🙌 Already counting down the days to next year’s fair. Until then, let's keep the inspiration rolling! 💼📚✨
