  • Third Culture Kids Outsiders x Patagonia Stockholm "New Nature" Third Culture Kids Outsiders has for 4 years united people from different backgrounds with the Swedish nature. Through hikes, lectures and self-created guides, we have connected our community with nature, with the aim of breaking the homogenous image of what nature is and the idea that you have to be a certain type of person, or have special skills, to take advantage of nature and like being outdoors. We want, by using our creativity and thoughtfulness, to find new ways to live in harmony with our surroundings. Any connection to nature is better than none at all. For society to move forward, we need to use the power of our personal ties to nature, regardless of what they look like. Film by Luliya Masfun Creative Directors CVU Logo by Paloma Demanet *The concept "New Nature" is an open source concept created by Ollie Olanipekun / Future Impose (UK).

  • Reconnect to Nature • Connecting with nature is becoming increasingly important. In this day and age, we live in concrete jungles, surrounded by artificial lights and constant noise. Many of us feel a deep longing to find comfort in the embrace of our natural surroundings. Inspired by this purpose, we bring you stories from our community that reflect how they interact with nature through various activities 🌿 Hiking is an excellent way to immerse yourself in nature and experience its many benefits. @thirdculturekids.us unites people from diverse backgrounds with the aim to break the image of who nature is for and the idea that you have to be a certain type of person, or have special skills to discover all that nature has to offer. • Team Mantra: At the right place At the right time And in the right context This is how we have always operated, setting the premise for our work and our sense of urgency. Three years ago, we decided to host a Red Bull Half Court Basketball Tournament in Tensta. Many found this choice odd—why Tensta? (Explaining this would require an entire essay on its own, but it was obvious to us.) A year later, we were in a meeting with the municipality, initiating discussions on what Elinsborg Park could become for the area if we started by fixing the basketball court. To us, basketball is as much a culture as it is a sport, providing a foundation for community development and opening up numerous opportunities beyond sports. We received a firm no, being told it was impossible without a politician’s involvement and that it would take at least three years to get approval. Our sense of urgency did not allow us to wait that long, so we sought an alternative path forward: At the right place —> Tensta At the right time —> Brilliant Minds Foundation / Kevin Durant Family Foundation And in the right context —> Viewing basketball as a culture rather than just a sport, to find new ways to expand its influence. Short film out in August. by Sumeria Films ( Dylan Kadir and Daniil Tomas ) and us.

  • Finale of our MoMU tetralogy: "Resilience" with artist Jacqueline Mapei Cummings / Jasmine Agdami / Rebecca Beyene ( 4th of June ) Resilience is the strength to bounce back from adversity, to keep moving forward despite obstacles, to endure and survive against the odds. It's a quality we all strive to cultivate within ourselves. But have you ever considered how art can deepen our understanding and appreciation of resilience? #FreePalestine #FreePalestine

  • Grateful for this. Meet our first trainee here at our studio. Name: Maria Ahmed Place of Birth: Stockholm, Sverige Parents Place of Birth:  Mom - Asmara, Eritrea  Occupation: PR student at Berghs School of Communication What do you strongly believe? I strongly believe in differences, not only being natural but essential for our world. The diversity in perspectives, experiences, cultures and beliefs fosters creativity, growth and innovation. Embracing our differences allows us to broaden our understanding and challenge our assumptions. It is through encountering and engaging with diverse perspectives that we can expend our horizons, break down barriers and build stonger, more inclusive communites. Rather than seeing differences as sources of division, I believe they should be viewed as opportunities for connection, collaboration, and mutual enrichment. What is your favorite color? Does this color describe you as a person? Please explain. Black is my favorite color because it represents everything and nothing. According to me, it's the only color that doesn't have any association with either something positive or negative like yellow can be associated with positivity, but black just "is". Just like me, I just am. It's said that black is a mixture of all colors which makes it so unique. It's a color that absorbs all others and "stands above" them in a humble way. It signals strength while also being a neutral color. It's a neutral color in my eyes, whether it's a piece of clothing or anything else. Black, for me, is happiness and darkness, mundane and elegant, boring and exciting, an open book and a mystery. It's the only color the majority can't agree on what it represents, which I interpret as nothing being set in stone, everything can change, and there's no right or wrong. If your creative works had an odor, what do you think they would smell like? Why? I think it would smell like a marketplace, filled with aromas from spices, fruits and exotic treasures. The chaotic blend of scents would mirror the mix of ideas, inspirations and emotions that fuel my creativity. It would be a sensory overload, overwhelming yet exhilarating, inviting exploration and discovery amidst the vibrant chaos.

  • The prominent artist Cherries words at our panel discussion for "Svart Basket" Fotografiska Museum Stockholm "For me basketball is culture, and music is culture." Really speak to what we believe in at CVU Studio/Hoop Dreams. Her view of basketball and music as ways to freely express oneself, find a community, and shape a shared identity is exactly how we see it too. The panel discussion delved into the captivating intersection of basketball and hiphop, two dynamic forces that have not only shaped but also given voice to the youth. Exploring their shared history and cultural impact, our esteemed panel w. Victoria Escobar x Cherrie x Yacouba Barry x Danait x Iskias Kahsay led by Fares Hamed embarked on a journey to deepen the symbiotic relationship between these influential spheres.

  • Project: Hoop Dreams Merci for opening up space for our "Svart Basket" pop-up exhibition Värmeverket / Fares Hamed and Fotografiska Museum Stockholm / Rebecca Tegegne “Svart Basket” must not only contain platitudes that everyone can sign. “Svart Basket” is the ultimate contemporary critique. An imperative to “Svart Basket” is what metaphor is to the lyric. “Svart Basket” is free to reject and invalidate other people's ideas in favor of its own. “Svart Basket” only describes WHAT is to be achieved. HOW this is to be achieved is left open. “Svart Basket” can be written down at any time - it can just as well start from youthful idealism as from a pragmatic approach which took years to establish. “Svart Basket” is a public document. “Svart Basket” always outlives its creator. “Svart Basket” is an ongoing conversation. “Svart Basket” is about making forces and stories visible. “Svart Basket” is a compilation of Hoop Dream's collected materials, all of which have an origin and a future. *Manifesto inspired by architecture and Norell/Rodhe If you want to host the exhibition pls dm or send an email to wadood@commonvaluesunited.club We can present this as a pop-up or residency.
