October 25, 2024, will forever be a significant date in EcoDataCenter’s history! Today, we finalized the acquisition of the historic Kvarnsveden paper mill in Borlänge. With an initial 250 MW of power capacity already in place and a well-prepared infrastructure, this site holds immense immediate potential, as shown in the photos. We are excited to honor the legacy of this incredible industrial landmark as we embark on this chapter.

Yesterday, our CEO, Peter Michelson, engaged in a meaningful discussion with Erik Slottner, the Swedish Minister responsible of digitalization, about the critical role data centers play in the AI value chain. The conversation touched on key issues such as energy efficiency, sustainability, and the importance to ensure that AI technologies are both scalable and accessible, positioning Sweden as a leader in the digital transformation.

Last night we won the prestigious Urban Land Institute Europe Awards for Excellence 2024!! Simone Santi, chairman of the jury, presented the award, stating: “The purpose of EcoDataCenter is to spearhead innovation in reducing the environmental footprint of data infrastructure while advancing technological innovation. Through strategic partnerships and a pioneering design, EcoDataCenter aims to address the growing global demand for data while minimising its environmental impact.” We are very proud and encouraged to keep on pushing!

Today, we successfully listed our bond of SEK 1 billion on Nasdaq to support and enable further investments in critical AI infrastructure. 🚀 This is a huge step forward in our mission to empower the AI ecosystem.
