  • As global pressure mounts for corporate transparency, sustainability reporting has become a critical regulatory focus. Ethos, as one of the leading sustainability consultancies in the Nordics, is actively monitoring and supporting the implementation of evolving sustainability regulations, recognising their strategic impact on businesses. In the fall, we therefore analysed several reports from early adopters in ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards) reporting. You can find the results here: https://lnkd.in/derv2a29

  • Our Chief Commercial Officer & Senior Advisor, Andreas T. Filipsson shares insights on the European Commission's proposed Omnibus regulation on EU consumer protection laws for new market developments.   The #Omnibusregulation was referenced by Ursula von der Leyen in a recent informal meeting with Heads of State and Government in Budapest, offering some clarity on the Commission's direction.   The Commission aims to streamline sustainability frameworks, including the EU Taxonomy, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). The frameworks are designed to reduce bureaucratic complexity by addressing overlapping data points and eliminating redundancies between existing regulations.   Ursula von der Leyen emphasized: “The content of the laws is good, we want to maintain it and we will maintain it.”   Ethos welcomes her statement and underlines the importance of stability. With significant investments already made by companies to comply with these frameworks, any major revisions at this stage could disrupt progress and create unnecessary uncertainty. The focus must remain on supporting businesses in their sustainability efforts without additional complexity.   Watch the full press conference here: https://lnkd.in/deQwfcWC

A European #omnibus sustainability regulation – what do we know so far? - Omnibus was mentioned only briefly by Ursula Von Der Leyen in an informal meeting with Heads of State an Government in Budapest Hungary. Link to the full press conference: https://lnkd.in/deQwfcWC - The European Commission wants to streamline the (examples) EU Taxonomy, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). - “The content of the laws is good, we want to maintain it and we will maintain it”. said Ursula von der Leyen - The purpose stated is to reduce bureaucracy and data points that are overlapping and redundant.   Personally, I welcome any initiatives that enable sustainable progress without too much bureaucracy. The legislations are overlapping and complex, but they are important.   We can only hope that this does not mean renegotiations of the content, but we’ll have to trust the word of the commission on that they will maintain the contents of the law. It would be extremely late to withdraw for example parts of CSRD now when companies have taken significant measures and invested heavily into meeting the legislations.

  • The ripple effects of the U.S. election have far-reaching consequences for countries, industries, and global supply chains, underscoring the need for businesses to adapt and respond effectively to these shifts. As Management Consultants, we recognise the critical importance of staying ahead of the curve in today’s rapidly evolving business environment and understanding this new business landscape. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting an event titled The U.S. Election Is Over—Now What for Business, Geopolitics, and Sustainability? in collaboration with AmCham Sweden - American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden and Consilio International. Key takeaways from the discussion underscored the urgent need for resilient supply chains, effective strategies for managing economic uncertainty, and the profound impact of the green transition on global industries. With the evolving geopolitical landscape, many companies are strategically positioning personnel in key hubs such as Washington and Brussels to stay ahead of policy shifts and international relations. A particularly engaging conversation centered on the Inflation Reduction Act in the U.S., which is having wide-reaching implications for industries and driving changes in future business strategies. A special thank you to our esteemed panellists: Erik Savola, Head of Nordics at Citi Andreas von der Heide, CEO and Co-Founder at Consilio International Peter Dahlen, Managing Director at AmCham Sweden - American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden Malin Speace, CEO at Ethos, moderated the engaging discussion. Thank you to all participants for contributing to such a valuable conversation! #Geopolitics #Sustainability #Economics

Join us as we explore: ✅ Key differences between the EU SFDR and UK SDR frameworks. ✅ Core concepts of the UK SDR and how companies are responding. ✅ What to consider when launching a UK fund with an SDR label. ✅ How these frameworks drive capital towards sustainable initiatives.
