🚁 The future of drones takes flight in Lodrino Our Swiss Tech Experience Tour landed in Lodrino, not far from Bellinzona, where we visited the Swiss Drone Competence Center, part of Switzerland Innovation Park Ticino | Site of Park Zurich. Led by Niklaus Stocker, we explored how SDCC is at the forefront of drone industry advancements. 👗 Diving into Lifestyle Tech innovation and top research institutes in Lugano Next on our Swiss Tech Experience Tour, we visited the Lifestyle Tech Competence Center of Switzerland Innovation Park Ticino | Site of Park Zurich. The presentation by the Center's President Carlo Terreni, coupled with a tour of their labs, shed light on LTCC's activities. This Competence Center doesn't just bridge the gap between research and industry: it merges them, nurturing an environment where open innovation thrives. Before leaving Lugano, we visited the USI-SUPSI Campus Est, where we had the opportunity to learn more about some of Southern Switzerland's leading research institutes: the Department of Innovative Technologies at the Scuola universitaria professionale della Svizzera italiana (SUPSI), the Software Institute (USI), and IDSIA USI-SUPSI, where we also visited the robotics and drones labs. Day 2 of the Swiss Tech Experience Tour: Today, we visit the Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne Ltd., where cutting-edge technology meets industrial excellence. Situated in the heart of Biel/Bienne, this hub is dedicated to fostering innovation in the fields of advanced manufacturing, battery technology, MedTech, and Industry 4.0. One of the standout features of the Biel park is its emphasis on applied research: At its four research centers – Swiss Advanced Manufacturing Center, Swiss Battery Technology Center, Swiss HealthTech Center, Swiss Smart Factory, companies collaborate closely with universities and research institutions to turn innovative ideas into market-ready solutions. Integrated into the Park is also one of four Advanced Manufacturing Technology Transfer Centers, the Swiss Cobotics Competence Center (S3C). Its goal is to close the gap between the theoretical capabilities of robots and industrial reality and thus to bring more collaborative robots into industrial applications. In addition to these top-tier research facilities, the park offers companies access to a vibrant network of industry experts and state-of-the-art infrastructure, all designed to accelerate innovation and bring groundbreaking technologies to life.
