Congratulations to The Majurity Trust on the launch of The Foundry! This milestone marks a significant step toward empowering social impact organisations to grow, collaborate, and create meaningful change for our communities. We are excited to see the transformative work that will emerge from this vibrant hub. Together, let’s build a brighter, more inclusive Singapore.
🌟 The Foundry Now Open for Impact! 🌟 “The founder mindset is that of spotting a problem, challenging the status quo of what is possible and finding a solution to make things better.. We need that founder mindset in the social sector.. people who are like-minded and wanting to do good for society, but they’re going to go about it in unlike ways. The Foundry should never lose that spirit.” — President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, at the launch of The Foundry on #TheMajurityNight2024. We are deeply grateful to our Guest-of-Honour, President Tharman, and Ms. Jane Ittogi, for their steadfast belief in our work at The Majurity Trust. From celebrating our 5th anniversary in 2022 to the launch of The Foundry last night, you have stood by us, offering invaluable guidance and unwavering support in our vision to do philanthropy differently. Established by The Majurity Trust, The Foundry is the result of 7 years of working closely with donors, partners, and grantee organisations to build a strong and vibrant ecosystem that tackles pressing issues in our society. From the community, by the community, and for the community. An audacious project of this scale possible because of the generosity of many. Over $10 million was raised by a collective of private philanthropists and foundations to establish this new home base for collective impact. Our heartfelt gratitude to our Founding Donors who believe in our vision: Low Tuck Kwong Foundation, Yong Hon Kong Foundation, Kuok Group Singapore, Kwan Family, Clotho Family Office, Woh Hup (Private) Limited, Holywell Foundation, BinjaiTree Foundation, Dr Janee Lim and Mr Mark Wong, Mr Lim Ek Tie (Alvin) and Ms Anita Fam, and our Foundation Donors including Mr Kenneth Kan and Financial Markets Association of Singapore The transformation and revitalisation of the historic Elections Department building, in just under 8 months was expertly done with incredible support from build partners: Woh Hup (Private) Limited: Construction, JustCo: Space planning and interior design, WOHA Architects: Architectural design, Nyee Phoe Flower: Landscaping, JEB Group: Sustainable furniture and ambiguous: Lighting design. Gratitude too to our key government partners — the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), Singapore Government Partnerships Office, and Tote Board — who were the first to recognise and champion this milestone project alongside us.
