Last Friday and Saturday, the Alumni Leadership Conference #ALC convened at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, offering profound insights into the institute's transformation and the vibrant volunteering landscape. The MIT Club of Singapore made its mark, represented by Hau Yee Ng and Grégoire THOMAS. This Monday, we were thrilled to host Mr. Siak Kian Cheng, a MIT Sloan School of Management Fellow from 2006 and Group CEO of ComfortDelGro, for an inspiring sharing session, Q&A, and dinner. Thank you Ms Shirlene Sim for welcoming us at JustCo Marina square.  SK took us on a journey through ComfortDelGro's evolution, covering: - Global #expansion to provide reliable, multi-modal land transport in Europe, Australia, China, the UK, and Singapore - Ongoing efforts to #ReduceCarbonEmissions by electrifying transport and exploring new energy sources like biofuel and hydrogen - Investments in #CuttingEdgeTech like autonomous vehicles to stay ahead of the curve Our Q&A session was super interactive, covering everything from financials (ComfortDelGro's seeing double-digit growth year-on-year!) to competition and the future of land transport. Last Tuesday, 34 #MITAlumn had the chance to meet with #Minister Vivian Balakrishnan on the theme of Singapore foreign policy. One of the key message from Minister Balakrishnan is that Foreign policy begins at home - we, in Singapore, need to keep being #successful, #united, #coherent and #relevant. It was also a great chance to mingle with alumns from Yale University, Harvard University, Stanford University and many more. A lots of insights, a nice buffet and great company.
