https://lnkd.in/gnBQ8m_t In the wake of Amazon's announcement that all its employees are required to return to office five days a week startng from January 2025, discussions on the merits of Amazon's stipulation are gaining traction. Joey Kwek, Head of Division, Senoko Energy's HR & Corporate Services, joins Shaun Ee, Cluster Head of People, The HEINEKEN Company, to talk about how both companies are able to make hybrid arrangement works. As an energy company where a large segment of employees are required to run the power plant, hybrid work has not been an easy ride for Senoko Energy. But Senoko Energy has continued to leverage technology to support employees who are not required to be on site to adapt and be equally productive working from home. Joey says that to ensure that flexibility and productivity go hand in hand, Senoko Energy sets clear goals and expectations, focuses on results, and maintains open communication. She adds that by supporting hybrid work and Flexible Work Arrangements, we enable employees to take care of the myriad of priorities our employees have in both their professional and personal lives. It also creates an environment that helps us retain top talent and attract new ones. #senokoenergy #flexibleworking #flexiblework #RemoteWork #HybridWork #flexibleworkarrangements

  • https://lnkd.in/gfkpvZ_h Reiterating Senoko Energy's commitment to play a role in Singapore's transition to a sustainable future, Frederik Baerts, President & CEO of Senoko Energy, highlighted several initiatives at SIEW "Live" 2024. Among them is the collaboration with Gentari, which is part of PETRONAS, to explore the import of hydrogen from Malaysia to Singapore for use by Senoko Energy's exisitng and new combined cycle gas turbine units, thereby reducing carbon emissions. Other initiatives include the unveiling of SolarShare, Singapore’s first commercially available peer-to-peer grid scale trading platform for solar energy; exploring partnerships with other entities to import low-carbon electricity and planning to build a best-in-class Combined Cycle Plant unit & on-site solar PV. #senokoenergy #SIEW2024 #Environment #greenenergy #sustainability A connected world, Frederik added, is essential to deliver Singapore’s decarbonization targets – connected physically and logistically as well as connected through partnerships. #senokoenergy #sustainability #SIEW2024 #greenenergy #environment

  • https://lnkd.in/dQBQyz48 At SIEW "Live", Masashi Yoshikura, Chairman of Senoko Energy, highlighted that with the power sector accounting for about 40% of Singapore's total carbon emissions, it needs to take the lead the charge to achieve decarbonisation. He called on both private and public sectors to come together and work towards this common goal. Each player going on its own would simply waste resources. He also noted that hydrogen power, though uncertain, could be the game changer we need to decarbonise. #senokoenergy #decarbonisation #sustainability #SIEW2024

  • https://lnkd.in/gcEMp4sN The journey to sustainability is long and arduous and will require different entities coming together, each bringing their specific expertise and expertise to the table. That is why we are delighted to announce our collaboration with Gentari on the import of hydrogen and how we integrate hydrogen into our existing and new combined cycle gas turbine assets. Gentari was established by PETRONAS in 2022 with the aim of delivering “a suite of renewable energy, hydrogen and green mobility solutions,” Through this collaboration, we aim to explore the reduction of carbon emissions by 18,000 tCO2e annually in the first phase, which is equivalent to taking about 4,000 cars off the roads. This number could potentially increase to 535,000 tCO2e in subsequent phases (equivalent to 119,000 cars). In line with Senoko Energy’s ambition to be the first in bringing in hydrogen to Singapore for power generation, this partnership underscores Senoko Energy's commitment to sustainable energy solutions, Singapore’s national hydrogen strategy and contribution to Singapore’s 2050 Net Zero target. #senokoenergy #sustainability #hydrogen #energymarkets #Environment #Green

  • We are proud to announce our sponsorship of Tay Wei Ming, one of Singapore's most decorated para-badminton player. Wei Ming is Singapore’s first ever Para-Badminton world champion when he won the BWF Para-Badminton World Championships in 2017 alongside his partner, Indonesia's Suryo Nugroho. Wei Ming picked up badminton when he was 10 after being introduced to the sport by his father. Despite his disability, Wei Ming represented his school badminton teams throughout his academic years, including being appointed captain of the Nanyang Polytechnic’s badminton team. He was talent spotted by Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) in 2006. Two years later, he was called up to the national team.   Besides the World Championships doubles title in 2017, Wei Ming has won several other medals in international competition. • This year's Nithiah Nandan Award goes to Shirley Wan, Senior Analyst of Senoko's Energy Digital Information Technology Division (seen here receiving the certificate from Frederik Baerts, President & CEO of Senoko Energy. The annual Nithiah Nandan Award is named in honour of the fiery unionist and a former employee of Senoko Power Station. It recognises employees at Senoko Energy who demonstrated a passion for learning and the desire to constantly upgrade themselves. The late Nithiah Nandan advocated passionately for power plant workers - who were most daily rated in the late 1970's and 1980's - to upgrade themselves through continuous training so that they could make a better living. Shirley was given the Award for completing a 12-month Specialist Diploma in Cybersecurity. She was driven to overcome the challenges of juggling work, study and personal obligations due to her passion for the discipline, which she felt would help her become more effective in executing her role as part of the cybersecurity team. Congratulations to Shirley! #senokoenergy #energymarket #essentialservices #lifelonglearning #continuouslearning

  • Volunteers from Senoko Energy spent a fun-filled morning with the children of TOUCH Young Arrows@Sembawang on Saturday, 31 August 2024. Together with the children, we learnt about Digital Mindfulness - striving for the desired behaviours - such as using positive and healing words rather than hurtful ones - when engaging with others in social media. TYA@Sembawang, which Senoko sponsors as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, is part of TOUCH Community Services. TYA@Sembawang takes care of more than 20 children from low-income families and underprivileged backgrounds. It provides these children with academic coaching as well as values-driven learning activities to address their education and socio-emotional needs. TYA@Sembawang also organises family-events to support parents and caregivers of these children. They include parenting/marriage/job skill workshops and support from social workers and counsellors. #senokoenergy #csr
