About us
SG Assist is a social enterprise focusing on creating positive social impact through technology. Our key innovation is a digital community platform (mobile app) which crowdsources nearby Community Responders (aka Kampong Heroes) to provide timely, affordable assistance to the dependents of working caregivers, meeting the needs of the dependents at home; and thus giving the working caregivers peace of mind at their workplace. Honoured to join the Queenstown Seniors Festival, fostering joy and connections with our vibrant seniors! 🎉 Heartfelt thanks to Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Culture, Community and Youth of Singapore Eric Chua for making this possible and inspiring us to continue building an inclusive community. 🧡 Greg Tan Tze Kai Adrian Tan Haojun S. [ QT Seniors Festival👵👴 ] #Throwback to when Queenstown organised our very own Seniors Festival earlier this year🎉 Often during home visits or QT events, a topic that often comes up in my conversations with residents is ageing... retiring and growing old brings many unknowns and it can be quite scary😵💫 That's why Seniors Fest was organised, where we show seniors what are the resources they can tap on! 1️⃣ Senior Home Living At home, many seniors worry about falling🩼, and some struggle with swallowing their food🍚 We curated resources from Housing & Development Board on its EASE programme, GentleFoods for soft foods that are easy to swallow and Alexandra Hospital, Singapore that address these concerns. Agency for Integrated Care (Singapore)’s Silver Generation Ambassadors were also on hand to explain the work that they do 2️⃣ Seniors in the Community In the community, our Active Ageing Centres (AACs) play a big role! Sport Singapore is bringing activities to combat muscle loss💪 to all AACs, and equipment at Lions Befrienders AACs help seniors learn more about their health status. Apps📱 made by Dementia Singapore to assist seniors with dementia and SG Assist for those in need of medical escort services🚑 are also featured, along with Pharm-Dx who aims to make healthcare products💊 more accessible. QueenstownSG also conducts workshops to raise awareness and help seniors with Future Care Planning, such as Lasting Power of Attorneys📝 3️⃣ Future Living of Seniors Lastly, we re-imagine senior living, featuring work done as part of the Queenstown Health District Pilot National University Health System and Montfort Care’s work in engaging senior men👴 Senior Active Force SG also characterised seniors into different personality profiles, which must be taken into account when engaging them All in all, with the many resources at hand, our senior years is definitely not something to be afraid of! Instead, it should be some of the best years of our lives🤩 #myQTmyHome #QueenstownSG #MyQueenstown #imaQT

Empowering Communities, Together 💪✨ Collaboration is key to creating lasting impact. SG Assist is proud to team up with Social Collider to drive meaningful change in the lives we touch. On December 19th and 20th, Social Collider had the pleasure of hosting the Non-Profit Incubator (NPI), a distinguished organization dedicated to empowering social entrepreneurs and nonprofits in China. The visit aimed to provide NPI with insights into Singapore's dynamic and vibrant social enterprise ecosystem. Staying true to our role as an incubator that connects people and resources, Social Collider facilitated meaningful engagements by introducing NPI to respected organizations such as the Singapore International Foundation, Dignity Kitchen, and SGAssist. We were also privileged to have inspiring speakers from EYO and I’M Soul Inc share their valuable perspectives on driving social change. The interactions during these two days were incredibly rewarding, leading to the creation of valuable networks and paving the way for collaborations that we are excited to see take shape in 2025. At Social Collider, we pride ourselves on being more than just an incubator—we see ourselves as a bridge connecting resources, talents, and opportunities across borders. Our mission goes beyond Singapore, reaching communities in countries such as China, Laos, and the Philippines. By building a global network of changemakers who share a passion for tackling social challenges, we strive to foster cross-cultural understanding, the exchange of innovative ideas, and the co-creation of impactful solutions. In an ever-evolving world, we believe that the power of collaboration knows no boundaries. Together, we can inspire change, amplify the impact of social enterprises, and build a better future for communities everywhere. #SocialCollider #GlobalImpact #SocialEnterprises #Collaboration #Changemakers

"We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing." – George Bernard Shaw. At SG Assist, this resonates deeply. 🕰️🤝 We hosted over 30 seniors from Active Global Specialised Caregivers, Ghim Moh Active Ageing Centre, for the Council for Third Age Time Together - Intergenerational Learning Programme. With Come! Let’s Chat tool, we facilitated an engaging session that brings seniors and youth together to share stories, exchange knowledge, and navigate a gallery of Singapore’s past and present. Seniors explore today’s ever-changing world while imparting their wisdom and experiences to the younger generation. This interactive experience strengthens cognitive and social skills and builds bridges of understanding and respect. Together, we celebrate the importance of connection, storytelling, and shared growth with youth volunteers from PSB Academy and Hwa Chong Institution. Our volunteers left with smiles, unforgettable memories, and the excitement to return and to make an even more significant impact. 💙 Partners keen to collaborate or individuals who are interested in volunteering, DM us for more information. 🔍 Did you know? 1 in 11 people aged 60+ are living with dementia. (Source: National Healthcare Group's Institute of Mental Health Study) The impact of dementia on individuals and families is profound, but there's good news: Early intervention and proper care can make a big difference. If we start today, we can help those affected by dementia live fulfilling and meaningful lives. Here are some tips for seniors and caregivers to help manage and prevent dementia: 🌟 Stimulate memory and cognitive function: Engage seniors in activities that promote mental clarity, such as memory games, quizzes, or storytelling. These exercises can help maintain brain health and foster a sense of accomplishment. ❤️ Create a strong support system: Seniors should feel supported not just by caregivers but also by their communities. Encourage social engagement with family, friends, and neighbours. Loneliness and isolation can worsen cognitive decline, so staying connected is crucial. 🧘♂️ Manage stress through relaxation techniques: Mindfulness, meditation, and gentle breathing exercises can help reduce anxiety, which can trigger confusion and memory issues. Encourage seniors to incorporate relaxation practices into their daily routine. 🏠 Ensure a safe and comfortable living environment: The home should be a place of safety and peace. Consider making simple modifications, such as labelling doors, adding grab bars in the bathroom, and reducing clutter. A calm, familiar environment can alleviate stress and help reduce the risk of wandering. 💡 Seek professional help when necessary: Early diagnosis and treatment can slow the progression of dementia. Consult a healthcare professional if you notice any signs of cognitive decline in yourself or a loved one. A medical team can guide the best course of action. It's never too early to start taking steps for better cognitive health. The sooner we intervene, the better the outcomes for seniors with dementia. Blending Communities, Inspiring Growth 🌿🚶🏻♂️☀️ At SG Assist, we celebrate the incredible journey of Phihock Lim, one of our most dedicated GeronTech Ambassadors. Known for his love of hiking with his group, Our Walking Kaki, Phi Hock has always been passionate about building community. When he first took on leading our Age+ Living Lab tours, he was hesitant, unsure if he could communicate the benefits of gerontechnology to others. Fast-forward to today, Phi Hock has become a confident and articulate guide, inspiring seniors and caregivers to see how technology can improve their lives. His ability to make complex ideas accessible and engaging has enriched our tours and empowered many participants. Beyond his ambassador role, Phi Hock brings his hiking community into the SG Assist family, fostering a spirit of connection that bridges different groups of seniors. His journey reminds us that learning, growing, and making a meaningful impact is never too late. Thank you, Phi Hock, for leading the way with heart and purpose!
