Homegrown Humanitarian Organisation. Serving Humanity & Saving Lives since 1949.
About us
The Singapore Red Cross is a homegrown humanitarian organisation dedicated to relieving human suffering, protecting lives and dignity and responding to emergencies. We serve the vulnerable through our blood donor programme, Home and Day Activity Centre for the Disabled, community befriending, medical chaperone and transport service, Meals with Love, and Community First Aid, and we build capacity and resilience through our training academy, and volunteer and youth development. Beyond our shores, we mobilise and translate contributions from the donor community to relief and recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts, with the aim of helping communities affected by disasters. Here are some ways to give and get involved with the Red Cross: Become an Employee: You can make a difference every day. No matter what your interests are, you'll find something that you enjoy at the Red Cross. Work with us to mobilise the Power of Humanity. Volunteer: You can make a difference, by volunteering your skills or time. For instance, you can comfort an isolated elder or teach first aid to children. Whether you are interested in community services or international services, you'll find something of interest. Donate: You have the power to make a difference in someone's life. All you have to do is make a contribution. Every donation at redcross.sg helps provide services to the vulnerable. Give Blood: You can be a lifeline for patients who need blood transfusions. Even if you can’t give, you can spread the word or help organise a blood drive. Visit giveblood.sg to find out more!

The process of donating blood is not a walk in the park for Eileen Cher, Assistant Secretary General at the Singapore Red Cross. Yet she chooses to go through the dietary restrictions and adjust her habits to make sure she meets the requirements each time, wanting to make a difference for another with her gift of life. Her determination is further bolstered as she sees firsthand the dedication of her colleagues, and interacts with blood recepients and fellow donors through her work. At the Singapore Red Cross, we believe in nurturing young minds and offering opportunities for them to make a real difference. Throughout November and December, we hosted Ege Tavsanci, a Grade 12 student from the Singapore American School, as part of the Quest Partnerships Program at SAS. During his internship at the Red Cross Home for the Disabled, Ege immersed himself in various aspects of caregiving and rehabilitation. From engaging in activities like helping residents water plants to observing the impactful work in the gym rehabilitation department, his reflections remind us of the importance of empathy, adaptability, and the power of small actions to brighten someone’s day. Ege concluded his internship with an insightful presentation that shared his observations, actionable insights, and data collected during his time with us. Special thanks to ROBERT MIJARES for facilitating this meaningful collaboration. Partnerships like these not only offer students a chance to gain hands-on experience but also help us build awareness about our mission to uplift lives. Let’s discuss how we can work together — reach out today at humanresources@redcross.sg! #sgredcross #SASQuest #PassionPeople

25 #volunteers participated in the pilot run of Volunteer Skills Training (VST) in Mentoring Matters: Nuturing Young Hearts last month, levelling up their mentoring skills. They will join our pool of mentors and tutors in our local community with our Young Hearts programme. Co-facilitated by our VST Trainer Workgroup, led by Malar PALAIYAN, we welcomed new facilitators — Lean Villamor, Namita Chhibbar and Cathlyn Liew Chao Yen — to the team. We're also proud to see that this training was 100% volunteer-led through our Volunteer Skills Training programme! For more details about our Young Hearts Programme, which is primarily located at Yishun, Nee Soon and Tampines, head to redcross.sg/young-hearts. We look forward to you joining us as our mentors and volunteer with our Young Hearts programme: https://lnkd.in/gK7qN7pV Let's keep the spirit of volunteering alive! ❤️🙌 #PassionPeople #SGRedCross #VolunteerWithSRC #CSRUpskilling
