Microsoft has announced the general availability of Places at Ignite 2024, and it is poised to apply the power of AI to flexible work. Bringing your floor plans in allows users to see floor layouts, and find rooms, desks, and other points of interest. You will need plans in IMDF format, with properly captured spatial hierarchy, which we can help you prepare with our freshly released IMDF export. It's still work in progress but will narrow the gap between the space (2D/3D) viewer and the map viewer significantly. API compatible data layers are also on the roadmap 🙌. To celebrate Kalina's two years with us, we thought to hand over the mic for her to share some thoughts: 🎙️ “It's been two years since I started my journey at Smplrspace. When I joined, I had no specific expectations — everything was new: the people, the environment, the way of working. But I had hopes! I had hoped to create something meaningful. I had hoped to work alongside professionals who aren’t afraid to ask questions and who constantly seek new ways to answer them. I had hoped to be part of a place where quality is valued, even if it means going an extra mile. I had hoped for a culture built on integrity, where collaboration flourishes, and where we improve on what we create over time, rather than blindly shipping the next big thing. Looking back now, I feel like those hopes have come true. What started as glimpses of promise is now fully clear — all these values I hoped for have stood the test of time. I’m deeply grateful to be part of a team where these principles live and breathe. The photo below was taken during a seaside trip, just a week before starting work at Smplrspace. In it, I’m holding a dandelion, a symbol of wishes coming true. And I guess for me, they really have. Looking ahead, I want to continue growing with this team, creating even more meaningful work and pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve together. 💫”
