About Tasek Academy and Social Services (UEN: 201437089G): Tasek Academy and Social Services (Tasek) is a Social Service Agency with Institute of a Public Character (IPC) status that had its origins in Taman Jurong. Through strategic partnerships, we have expanded our programmes to include other areas on the island. We provide free programmes and run our own developmental programmes for children, youth and families from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and go deeper through our unique individual mentoring and holistic development approach. We also anchor KidSTART for Taman Jurong and Boon Lay, and operate the SG Cares Volunteer Centre @ Jurong. Our narrative dates back to the early 2010s, when we initially started off as an informal group dedicated to supporting ex-inmates and their families. Recognizing the broader challenges faced by families from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, we sought to enhance our efforts and provide more comprehensive assistance. In the years that followed, we expanded our initiatives to include academic coaching and football programs for children and youth. This expansion culminated in the formal establishment of Tasek in 2014. Since then, our journey has continued to evolve and grow, with a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
