Two weeks ago, I was truly honoured to win the Silver Award in the National Youth Entrepreneur Awards Competition, which was jointly organized by the local polytechnics, ITE, and ACE.SG (Action Community for Entrepreneurship). It was an affirmation of all the long hours, late nights, and relentless efforts in developing the concept and building the prototype. Even on the eve of the competition, my team and I were fervently preparing for the pitch, setting things right on the prototype, and fine-tuning the pitch deck. Adding on to the time pressures, we had to find ways to streamline, optimise and improvise. Lots of learnings for me throughout the process! This Silver Award presented by Minister Alvin Tan at the National Library Board, is a glowing recognition of our innovation and perseverance, learning and growing from each failure, and staying focused on our goals, even when faced with obstacles and unforeseen challenges. A truly humbling reminder that persistence and determination to keep trying even in the face of adversity are more important for success than luck! 🙌I’m incredibly grateful to Sherman Yong, Sean Lam, Ramesh Krish Kumar and Kelly See for their belief in me and for providing exceptional guidance and support. We are thrilled to announce that the MOE Innergy (Academic) Commendation has been awarded to the team behind the transformation of the Student Feedback and Staff Development Ecosystem at Temasek Polytechnic through TESSy! 🙌This prestigious accolade is one of six MOE Innergy Awards won by TP this year, highlighting the institution’s unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence. The team, comprising Huang Tengyi (I&ED), Chua Ping Tzeun (SQD), Max Teoh (ENG), Chan Chun Weng (SQD), and Andy Yeo (Team Lead, SQD), worked collaboratively to implement the Teaching Evaluation and Subject Survey system (TESSy). This transformative initiative radically improved TP’s feedback ecosystem by addressing the needs of both staff and students through a combination of technological advancements, policy changes, and a thoughtful change management approach.💯💡 TESSy introduced a range of innovative features, including a new SaaS platform with customised dashboards and a self-developed MS Teams-based messaging tool for automated, personalised reminders. The initiative also involved a policy shift towards greater transparency, allowing staff to share feedback openly with their team members. Behavioural nudges were employed to increase survey response rates, while a strategic change management approach ensured stakeholder buy-in and smooth onboarding. These efforts have delivered significant benefits. Students now enjoy an enhanced feedback experience, while strong survey response rates and improved employee engagement have been achieved. The system has also resulted in substantial manpower savings. Moreover, the successful implementation of TESSy has led to positive shifts in staff sentiments, reinforcing confidence in TP’s ability to manage change effectively. #temasekpoly #tpcreatingtomorrow

In just five days, these creative minds: ✺ Explored The Peranakan Museum 🏛️ ✺ Engaged with Peranakan art & craft masters 🎭 ✺ Honed prototyping skills in hands-on workshops 🛠️ ✺ Mastered pitching with Temasek Launchpad 💡 ✺ Collaborated with an interdisciplinary team Inspired by the SG Heritage Plan 2.0, they reimagined Peranakan customs, beliefs, food, and fashion to deliver cohesive, innovative design solutions.
