In many ways Europe is the epicenter of electric boating. With strong political incentives, and cultural preferences, every coastal country contains a company or several producing electric boats or propulsion systems. It's also interesting to observe the cluster of companies that populate the Alps mountain range. Electric boat companies from France, Switzerland, Northern Italy, Austria, Slovenia, and southern Germany all contribute to preserving their pristine mountain lakes with clean and quiet electric power. Over the next few days we're going to look at the distribution of companies that make electric boats and propulsion globally. We'll look at specifically where these companies are located geographically starting in North America, and moving eastward to Europe, Asia, and finally Australia and New Zealand. While many companies are located in expected places, some interesting patterns also emerge. It's also important to note that these visuals show where these companies are located around the world, and not sales volume. While Europe currently dominates in terms of number of companies, it's important to remember that many components come out of Asia, as well as nearly all of the battery cells. Noticeably absent are South America, the Middle East, and Africa. There are electric boat sales and use cases in all of these regions, however all of the vessels in these places come from companies and shipyards in Europe.
