[#ProjectMCO] As part of the Mangroves for Climate and Oceans (#MCO) project, we have been carrying out two key activities since last week, which will conclude this week. These activities aim to strengthen governance and foster synergy among stakeholders: ➡️ 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: A crucial opportunity to bring together key actors, assess progress, identify challenges, and outline the next steps. ➡️ 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲-𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁: A field immersion to share best practices in mangrove restoration, support local communities through Income-Generating Activities (IGAs), and enhance their resilience to environmental challenges. 🌱 These interactive activities have enabled communities, researchers, and partners to exchange experiences, share challenges, and provide recommendations while highlighting the tangible impact of the project on beneficiaries' daily lives. The PRCM-Regional Partnership for Coastal and Marine Conservation in West Africa is proud to play a key role in the implementation of this initiative by supporting monitoring, dissemination, and the adoption of best practices for the benefit of local actors and researchers. #Mangroves #Biodiversity #Climate #SustainableDevelopment #Partnerships Guinée Écologie Ong Palmeirinha ICONIQ Impact Oceans 5 Blue Action Fund Dr Demba MARICO Senhoury Ahmed Daf Sehla DAF Pape Adama Diop Aliou Diallo .............................................................................................................................. #FYI : The #MCO project aims to support the restoration, conservation, and sustainable development of mangroves, as well as the promotion of alternative livelihoods, in four West African countries: Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, and Senegal.
