Recent comments made by the Telangana minister Konda Surekha over the past marriage of actor Naga Chaitanya and actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu have led big names from the Telugu film industry to share their disappointment and outrage. Konda Surekha remarked that she feels the star's divorce happened because of BRS leader KT Rama Rao.
After her comments, the internet saw a massive uproar of fans and celebrities who strongly criticised the minister's statement. The Akkineni family members including Naga Chaitanya, Nagarjuna, Amala Akkineni and Akhil Akkineni expressed their derided opinions over the baseless allegations.
Voicing their fellow actor's opinions, prominent figures from the industry also echoed their sentiments. On X, Jr NTR stated that dragging personal lives into politics is a new low. He further wrote, "Public figures, especially those in responsible positions like you, must maintain dignity and respect for privacy. It’s disheartening to see baseless statements thrown around carelessly, especially about the film industry. We will not sit quietly while others make baseless allegations against us. We should rise above this and maintain respect for each other’s boundaries. Let’s ensure our society does not normalize such reckless behavior in democratic India."

Megastar Chiranjeevi expressed his anguish over comments made by a women minister that celebrities have become a soft target to get attention in the media. His message reads, "No one should stoop to this level for scoring political points by dragging unconnected people and more so women into their political slug fest and make distasteful fictional allegations. We choose our leaders to make the society a better place to live in, and not contaminate it by lowering the discourse. Politicians and people in honourable positions should set better examples." The actor hopes that she withdraws her malicious remarks immediately.

Similarly, Nani also shared his contempt, calling it disgusting that a politician can get away with talking any nonsense. He said, " When your words can be so irresponsible it’s stupid of us to expect that you will have any responsibility for your people. It’s not just about actors or cinema. This is not abt any political party. It is not okay for someone in such a respectable position to talk such utter baseless rubbish infront of media and think that it is okay. We all should condemn such practice which will reflect poorly on our society."

Pushpa star Allu Arjun also conveyed his sentiments over the issue calling her behavior very disrespectful and that goes against the values of Telugu culture. He wrote, "I strongly condemn the baseless derogatory comments made about film personalities and film families. This behavior is deeply disrespectful and goes against the values of our Telugu culture. Such irresponsible actions should not be accepted as normal. I urge the parties involved to act more responsibly and respect individual privacy, especially towards women. We must promote respect and dignity in society as a whole."

Actor Prakash Raj also stated, "What shameless politics... women who act in movies are small?.. #justasking"

As things stand, Konda Surekha has issued an apology to Samantha Ruth Prabhu through her social media handle, stating her intentions were not to hurt anyone. She added apologies to her fans.
