Community Foundation of the City of Dubno "Dobrobut"

It's great when new opportunities open up for Ukrainian cities. This was the topic of discussion at the Lviv Municipal Cooperation Forum, which focused on promoting the idea of inter-municipal cooperation between Ukrainian and international communities. The event was organized by the Cities4Cities United4Ukraine. And we are proud that the Forum was attended by the head of the Community Foundation of the city od Dubno “Dobrobut” Mykola Mandziuk and the coordinator of international relations and strategic work Geoffrey Glenn. He spoke about intercultural business communication and cooperation between business and government. Geoffrey also took part in a panel discussion on the peculiarities of the Ukrainian-American municipal partnership. 

Change is possible We not only teach, but also learn ourselves. Recently, a workshop for representatives of Ukrainian NGOs aimed at developing leadership skills and strengthening their influence in society was held in Warsaw. Our PR-manager Nataliia Mukha, as a member of team of the Community Foundation of the City of Dubno "Dobrobut", also had the opportunity to join. The dynamic four-day seminar combined speakers with practical experience, active people and opportunities for cooperation between participants. The latter learned and improved their skills in leadership, emotional intelligence, stress management, resilience, conflict resolution, and negotiation. Particular attention was paid to mental health, which is important for activists in today's environment. Change is possible is the main insight of the workshop, so we can change the community of Dubno together. Let's remember that. Thank you for the excellent organization and unique opportunity. As you may have noticed, we rarely post anything on our LinkedIn. For a variety of reasons. Well, it's time to change that. Therefore, we will briefly tell you about the work of our Foundation in the previous months. We want to improve our community and believe that more people should know about what we do.

We're thrilled to announce the launch of the Civic Embers Pilot Program, a groundbreaking initiative designed to foster youth leadership and civic engagement in Ukraine and the U.S. Starting this September, this six-week program will empower young people with the knowledge and skills to become active and informed citizens. Led by Geoffrey Glenn, with support from Dr. Abigail Dym (University of Pennsylvania) and Dr. Sarah Solhey (University of Colorado, Boulder), and assistance from Brock Mays, a PhD student, the program will offer a rich curriculum that includes both in-person and virtual components, focusing on democratization, civic action, and media literacy. 📅 Program Duration: September - November 2024 The Civic Embers Pilot Program is part of the Peace Corps Virtual Service Program and demonstrates the ongoing commitment by the Peace Corps and the Charitable Foundation of the City of Dubno, Dobrobut, to support Ukraine and youth education and leadership. International cooperation can be different. The main thing is the results it brings. We are pleased to announce the successful completion of our project with Ana Ferrer Ana F. and Meltheo Wells from Barry University, USA, in collaboration with Dobrobut. This international partnership exemplifies our commitment to global engagement, bringing diverse perspectives and innovative solutions to address human resource development challenges. Ana and Meltheo's expertise has significantly contributed to improving human performance at Dobrobut, highlighting the value of international collaborations in community development. This work became possible thanks to the initiative of Geoffrey Glenn, an honorary member of the Community Foundation of the city of Dubno. We are proud of the outcomes achieved through this project and look forward to future collaborations that drive positive change. Similar interests, joint plans and desires are realized. And for documentary confirmation, the head of the "Fund of the Community of the City of Dubno "Dobrobut" Mykola Mandziuk and the head of the CF «Caritas-Dubno» Andriy Koval signed a memorandum about interaction and partnership in the field of youth policy. We will remind you that in the fall, the head of our organization gave soft chairs and board games to the youth center. After that in the youth space was a lecture "The Age of Success" with a psychologist. This means that within the framework of the UPSHIFT program, activities for young people have started.
