Ever wondered why startups with serious growth potential often keep quiet about raising capital? While it might seem counterintuitive, many high-potential startups don’t advertise their fundraising efforts. The reason? It’s all about strategy and positioning. For these startups, raising capital isn’t just about getting money—it’s about finding the right investors who can offer more than just funds, such as strategic guidance, industry connections, and long-term support. Broadcasting a need for capital can sometimes attract the wrong kind of attention, leading to offers that don’t align with the startup's vision or goals. Consider this: a startup with strong growth potential knows its value. By keeping fundraising efforts discreet, they can engage in more selective and meaningful conversations with investors who truly understand their business model and are aligned with their long-term objectives. This approach helps avoid the pitfalls of premature or unfavourable deals and maintains the startup's bargaining power. Moreover, silence on fundraising often signals confidence. It indicates that the startup is focused on execution and growth rather than being solely driven by the need for capital. This can attract more serious investors who respect and appreciate a founder's strategic restraint. What do you think—should startups be more open about their fundraising efforts, or is discretion the better part of success? #news#investment#startups#losep24

Experimenting with LinkedIn Live - Join me for a 30 minute Drop-in, Question and Answer session about launching a business. These are the sort of questions we can advise on: I think I have a great idea, but I don’t have a lot of time or money… How do I take my idea to the next level without risking all that I have? People love my idea and I have customers waiting for me to deliver, but I don’t know how to launch my business… How do I avoid expensive mistakes? I’m passionate about my business idea, but I know I don’t have the network, experience, or skills to take it to the finish line… Where can I get help I can trust? *Disclaimer - I haven't run a LinkedIn Live before and it involves hooking LinkedIn up to a streaming platform which I haven't used before. Feel free to join and see how it works or how I'm doing😉.
