2024 is almost a wrap! We wanted to take a moment to say thank you for following our journey and share a few highlights from this year that are shaping our future as an energy innovator. 🌍 GLOBAL TEAM EXPANSION: Strengthening our expertise with senior technical appointments in hydrodynamics and subsea pipelines, welcoming new talent, expanding our offices. 🏢 NEW MELBOURNE OFFICE: Establishing another presence in Australia to better serve our clients. 🤝 STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS: Collaborating with industry leaders in subsea pipelines, high-voltage cables, and offshore thermal energy conversion to expand our expertise. 🌊 MAJOR PROJECT AWARDS: Securing key projects in offshore wind, integrity management, SURF, and carbon capture and storage platforms. We have also kicked off some exciting R&D initiatives and look forward to sharing more about them in 2025.💡 In the meantime, we hope you have a wonderful festive season and wish you all the best for 2025. [PROJECT HIGHLIGHT] We’re pleased to share that 2H’s geotechnical team has completed another installation feasibility analysis of jacket pin pile foundations for a wind farm development, offshore Ireland. The study focused on the feasibility, risks and potential mitigation methods associated with installing pin piles in the assumed ground conditions. We identified a commercially and technically efficient installation method, assessed the pile setting depth, and outlined the installation methodology along with key equipment specifications. This project underscored the importance of site-specific geotechnical data. Conducting an early-stage reconnaissance site investigation significantly boosts confidence in early-stage concept design and feasibility studies. [HARDWARE PROJECT DELIVERY] 2H has delivered a suite of specialised multi-purpose running tools to facilitate top tension riser installation in the Gulf of Mexico . The multi-functioning running tool is specially designed for the installation, hang-off and high pressure well control of the riser. It interfaces with an elevator insert via an API rotary shouldered box at one end and with proprietary enhanced premium fatigue threads at the other. Our experienced team performed advanced FEA to optimise the geometry considering various load combinations, installation stack-up, interface constraints, and high-pressure management. Manufactured from high-strength carbon steel, the running tools underwent additional mechanical testing to verify material properties and achieve cost reductions without compromising schedule or quality. Designed, fabricated and delivered in under six weeks, this project highlights 2H’s unique ability to provide end-to-end custom hardware solutions for challenging or unique offshore projects. 2H field engineers successfully completed a third flexible riser and pipeline annulus testing campaign for Hess Exploration & Production Malaysia last month. As part of the project, positive pressure and vacuum testing on one brownfield and one greenfield flexible riser were conducted to establish the condition of the annulus and integrity of the polymeric outer sheath. Our Kuala Lumpur office has established itself as a local leader in annulus testing thanks to their specialist understanding of flexible pipe design and riser response and has been supporting flexible riser and pipeline integrity programmes for multiple operators in the region. #EngineeringExcellence #OffshoreEngineering

2H conducted an extensive geotechnical pile installation design study for a fixed wind farm with over 100 large-diameter monopiles of varying sizes, designs and soil conditions. This bespoke study helped the installation contractor verify that their chosen hammer for pile driving was optimal in terms of performance, safety, and cost.
