New safeguarding guidance has been introduced, offering important updates for those involved in child protection: - Education will not become a safeguarding partner but will be listed as a relevant agency. - Families with children under a Child Protection plan must seek approval from local authorities before home education. - A Single Unique Identifier for each child will improve the sharing of safeguarding information. - New legislation and a review of "Working Together to Safeguard Children" include statutory guidance for kinship care. - Increased oversight and accountability for children's homes.
