Reporting to the Executive Director of Housing Services, you will help shape and implement a strategic vision for rented housing and home ownership, keeping residents at the heart of everything we do. Your leadership will ensure high-quality, responsive services that align with regulatory frameworks and the highest housing standards. New research from the National Housing Federation shows that having the right home at the right time for a patient's recovery can reduce pressure and costs on the NHS. Supported housing can speed up and improve hospital discharges for many, including older people. Anchor’s partnership with Bolton Council, Bolton Cares and NHS colleagues to pilot the Discharge to Assess (D2A) scheme in our Rushey Fold extra care housing scheme in Bolton is featured in the research. Rushey Fold provides a homely and supported setting for people unable to return to their previous homes following a hospital admission. During their stay, residents receive reablement support and their housing and care needs are evaluated, allowing for a smoother transition to more long-term living arrangements. D2A residents have said the experience ‘turned my life around’ and ‘the best things are the people and the atmosphere’. Similar schemes are now operating in Manchester and other local authorities, demonstrating the potential for the model to work in more locations.
