When speaking to developers and investors, one key challenge they highlighted is the ability to forecast carbon removal before the project has started (ex-ante estimates). This is important as offtake agreements often include carbon issuance schedules. Our risk model uses our proprietary growth models to calculate the carbon curve of a given afforestation schedule. We use this to price our insurance policy and also calculate the likely delivery schedule of the project. We think it’s important to get this analysis into the hands of those who need it from day one. This is why we created the Feasibility Explorer. Our latest case study shows our forecasts were 95% accurate when compared to verified removals.
