A message from our founder, Ira Guha: Dear Asan community, As I look back on 2024, I am filled with pride at what we have achieved together. Four years ago, we began a simple effort to distribute Asan cups in rural Karnataka, to ensure that no woman or girl had to miss work or school during periods. Our social impact programme has now reached over 100 villages. That’s more than 35,000 women using Asan cups, which translates to 9 million extra days of work for the community, $22 million saved in household income, and over 100 tonnes of landfill from plastic pads averted! What's more, this year we spread our movement to Zanzibar, where we partner with MIMA Zanzibar to distribute cups to women in the military, as well as to rural Malawi, Bihar and Gujarat. But forget the numbers. 2024 to me was about proving to the world that any woman, anywhere, can use an Asan cup with ease and confidence. Whether you are a lawyer in New York, a policewoman in Zanzibar, or a silk farmer in Karnataka, you deserve access to the highest quality period care. At Asan, we’re working each day to bridge the gap and make this a reality. With gratitude, Ira Guha Founder, Asan

Expanding Asan's impact in Zanzibar 🎉 Last week, our amazing partners, MIMA Zanzibar hosted two Asan cup workshops for the women part of the Tanzanian Defense and Security 🇹🇿 Here’s what stood out: 1️⃣ Many women shared how challenging and uncomfortable it is to use sanitary pads or rags during active duty, especially long parades—they were so curious and excited to try the Asan cup! 2️⃣ A few opened up about allergies and rashes caused by pads and were thrilled to know that not only is the Asan cup super safe for their body, but will also lower their chance of infection. 3️⃣ The women loved it so much that they wanted extra cups for their family and friends! 💕 We’re so excited at the response, and look forward to hearing all their experiences of the cup and expanding our outreach even more ✨ #PeriodCare #MenstrualHealth #AsanCup #SocialImpact #WomenInDefense

Demo Day done 🚀 What an incredible experience pitching to 200 investors, retailers, and journalists at the 2024 Amazon Sustainability Accelerator Demo Day. Ira Guha's message was simple: It's a tragedy that in 2024, billions of women still cannot access the period care they need to complete the most basic daily activities. We invite everyone in the audience to join Asan in our mission to end period poverty by 2030 💪🏼 The day was made even more special by meeting John Boumphrey, the UK & Ireland Country Manager for Amazon (who was even up to date on our Black Friday deals!) as well as our wonderful investor and advisor Jonathan Adams. HUGE thank you to Amazon, Growth Studio and Climate-KIC for hosting an incredible 10 week accelerator. Can't wait to see what's next for all 8 brands in the programme (Anna-Sophie Deetjen, Michael Curtis, Mark Platts, Brian Walmsley, Clare Cunningham, Ali McAleavy (Cullen), Richard R., Andy Farnworth) Laura Holmes, Stefania Ghisleni, Isabella Tasker, Amy Dingemans, Charlotte Potter, Robert Novakov, Paul Finch, Rayan Jawad, Camilla Lor, Lisa Janßen, Ben Honan, Andy Kerr
