LGBTQ+ representation in the boardroom remains low despite the increase in inclusive board policies. This is why today we are launching the LGBTQ+ Board Alliance - a partnership of Audeliss, INvolve - The Inclusion People and Out Leadership – by ringing the closing bell at the London Stock Exchange. The LGBTQ+ Board Alliance is a global initiative dedicated to implementing LGBTQ+ inclusive board Policies, appointing LGBTQ+ People on corporate boards, and driving Progress for LGBTQ+ leaders at the board level. We are on a mission to turn policies into representation by dramatically increasing the number of LGBTQ+ individuals on corporate boards worldwide. Audeliss have been working hard to increase diverse board representation through the direct appointment of LGBTQ+ leaders since 2011, but through the LGBTQ+ Board Alliance, we will supercharge these efforts with a focus on 4 areas: 1. Research & Policy: To pave the way for increasing LGBTQ+ representation at Board level through compelling research and policy change 2. Readiness: To create a pipeline of LGBTQ+ leaders ready and equipped to take on the challenges of a Board appointment 3. Visibility: To showcase a diverse range of LGBTQ+ leaders ready to step into corporate Board appointments 4. Today we had the privilege of hosting an exclusive breakfast event in partnership with Spotify, celebrating the launch of BOLD: A new era of strategic HR, written by Katarina Berg, CHRO at Spotify, and her incredible team. Our Founder and CEO, Suki Sandhu OBE, sat down with Anna Lundström, VP HR at Spotify, Alexander Westerdahl, HRBP at Spotify, Johanna Bolin Tingvall, Spotify’s Global Head of GreenHouse, and Katarina, who shared insights behind BOLD; a book for anyone interested in people and the future of work. They emphasized how CEOs, in particular, have embraced the book’s message. Congratulations to all Role Models in this year's INvolve - The Inclusion People Enable Role Model Lists, sponsored by Dow! Last year, INvolve published research on disability in the workplace, highlighting the challenges many individuals face in navigating their careers. The findings revealed that: - Over two-thirds of employees felt they were solely responsible for securing the support and reasonable adjustments they needed, with 38% attributing barriers to budget cuts. - More than half believed that invisible disabilities were not given the same priority as other conditions. - Invisible disabilities had a significant impact on workplace experiences, with nearly a third (32%) of employees stating that their condition contributed to workplace stress. This figure rose to over half (51%) for those with mental health conditions and 46% for individuals with cognitive impairments, such as traumatic brain injuries or learning disabilities. These insights underscore the urgent need for greater inclusion and understanding of disability, neurodiversity, and mental health in the workplace. The 50 individuals recognized in the Enable Role Model List are trailblazers leading the charge for meaningful change and a more equitable environment for all.
