Five years ago I was thrust into a world that required deep empathy and leading from the heart. Five years on and we mark this day by stepping back to leap forward. Time, hindsight and space are a fortune we don’t always take enough advantage of. So, on this day we ask every Axicommer to step back. Because on Monday there’s going to be a sprint start and y’all had better watch out. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. Each year in February, our global team honors the memory of Henry Brake, our former agency leader, by taking a "Brake Day" dedicated to personal growth and reflection. Henry, who sadly passed away in early 2020, championed the power of stepping away from work to return refreshed and brimming with new ideas. Last year, our team truly embraced this spirit, with many exploring the world around them – from hiking new trails to visiting local sites. Others spent it diving into new technologies or tackling training programs with focus. Each unique way of marking Brake Day brought us back together as a stronger team. This Friday marks our 5th annual Brake Day, and we're embracing it with a focus on ambition. We’ve learned from our past and we’re building our future by making space for our ambition, which when we return, will yet again make us collectively an unstoppable global team. We take this time to grow.
