  • Closing out the day with an epic keynote from Dr Andy Cope So many takeaways but perhaps the one that lands the hardest is that we have (on average) 4000 weeks to live. Who do we want to ‘be’ during that time? What bananas can we let go of? Which eggs do we need to break? More on that to follow… But for now, our co-founders, Claire Sanders and Helen Silver-MacMahon want to extend the biggest thank you to all our attendees, speakers and sponsors. Today wouldn’t have been possible without your energy and support. We leave you with Bob’s (the Builder) words - Can we fix it? Yes we can!

  • When I say ‘Civil’ you say…. ‘Saves Lives’ Civility Saves Lives. Fact. Our own Helen Silver-MacMahon is up next at How to Thrive Vet taking us on a journey through civility and why it matters. The stats are undeniable, incivility adversely affects performance, profitability and wellbeing. So how can we purposefully go about our days without coming across as incivil? Helen explored the power of empathy, compassion and non-violent communication in a wonderfully energetic, insightful and informative Civility Clinic. Comment or DM Helen to find out more about how you can find out more about Civility in Action, a new six week programme of workshops, mentoring and group programmes focused on supporting real change.

Paul explores the vital role that adaptability, curiousity, approachability, inclusivity and ethics will play in the dynamic and unpredictable world we find ourselves in. Our key takeaways: Don’t be a Spartan Don’t recruit a team of minions Ethics is not a county outside London Speak Last - Act First Data means we no longer need to fly by the seat of our pants A fabulously engaging and informative session. Thank you Paul!

Liz explored where to start in evaluating the tools available and how to successfully adopt them before diving in to the ethical considerations. Thank you Liz for a thought-provoking and educational session providing practical takeaways for us all to apply. Next up, our co-founders Helen Silver-MacMahon and Claire Sanders consider thr continuing role of humans in an environment in which AI is evolving at pace…..

  • To learn to thrive we must first understand what's getting in our way...

Leaders, what's getting in your way? That is the first question that we asked our Thriving Teams development programme delegates last Thursday. Across many professions being a high performer and demonstrating great technical skills often means you are selected as a leader. Unfortunately, it does not guarantee that you will be given the support and training to make sure you #thrive in the role. If fact many people find it impossible to balance multiple responsibilities and decide to give up the opportunity, they are left feeling burned out and lost. This is why we created How to Thrive, to #support the leaders of the present and the leaders of the future. To offer #guidance on the current challenges we face and to offer the opportunity to meet others in the same place. Do any of the answers our delegates gave resonate with you? If so I know the perfect event for you! A safe space to learn and grow, meet others and leave uplifted, ready to thrive!
