The final highlight we’re sharing from 2024 is The Moor, an F&B and entertainment venue in the heart of Sheffield and home to an array of tenant retailers and restaurants. Our Benoy Branded Environments team was challenged to devise a #placemaking solution for this central urban asset, and the solution included a creative activation strategy to inject dynamisim and excitement. To celebrate World Cities Day we are reflecting on our various projects within cities across the globe. First up it's #Ithra, Al Khobar. Collaborating with Ithra, we designed an elegant, dual-language wayfinding scheme that complements Snøhetta architecture, enhancing accessibility and cultural enrichment. Next we move onto #SiamDiscovery, Bangkok where we created a modern visual identity and wayfinding system, incorporating playful shapes and colours to enhance the shopping experience. Finally let's take a look at #TheMoor in Sheffield. We’re proud to announce that our wayfinding project for London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence at the ISTD awards.⁠ Graeme Crow, Emily Whiteside and Emily Bagnall were excited to pick up the award at Brighton’s Royal Pavilion on Friday night. ⁠ ⁠ Using the building as a canvas, we designed a light of touch wayfinding system that seamlessly supports navigation around the University. This month, we're kicking off a new series all about materials. Edward Lothian, our Product Designer, will lead our team on a monthly exploration of the diverse materials that can elevate our designs. Our first theme in our materials series is Greenery! Ed has taken on the challenge of finding materials derived from plant life. He’s explored innovative options like seaweed paper and algae tiles. Last week our team got together to see Ed’s final curated material palette. Through the first of our series, Ed discovered: That it has “definitely been a challenge to procure naturally grown materials but has turned out to be really insightful. As an emerging sector in material supply it’s been nice to reach out to smaller companies/ start-ups and find out about their new material and what they are trying to achieve.”   Watch out, we'll be revealing our next theme soon. #materials #London #placemaking #signage #sustainability

With students heading back to university over the next few weeks, we’re reflecting on our #wayfinding scheme for the University of Staffordshire. We designed a digital and dynamic wayfinding system, to create a new student hub on campus. The Catalyst was designed to create a multi-purpose space for students where they could work, collaborate and relax. We're excited to announce we've been shortlisted for a major project led by The British Museum as part of a design team led by OMA. Together, we are one of five design teams shortlisted from a pool of over 60 applicants from across six continents. The scheme to develop the museum's 'Western Range,' is part of a decade-long renovation masterplan unveiled late last year that has been billed as one of the ‘most significant cultural redevelopment projects ever undertaken’.
